Troy Mower Belt Slippage

I've got a 6.5 hp Troy self-propelled mower. 21 inch cut with a brigs & straton. The drive belt slipped off the gearbox when a lot of grass clogged the housing. The belt is still good, and I've refreshed it with some CRC Belt spray, but now I can't slip it back on, even after removing the blade.

If you have an tension adjuster on the handle loosen up until you can slip it back on. If thats not enough remove the spring at the tranmission.

Drive belt comes out

There is an adjustment to tighten up the drive belt tensioner pulley. You should be able too see it after you remove the safety shield. Tighten adjustment nut to snug belt.

My troy built 210 6.75 hp mower self propelled mower doesnt pull

remove the front black plastic plate that is stamped self propelled and replace the wheel drive belt that attaches the engine pulley (above blade) to the transmission pulley (found under the cover). When you buy the belts, pick up two or three as I seem to go through a couple per season. Hopes this helps

Belt jump off the drive pulley

I don't have this kind of mower. But I was faced with the same problem recently. I got my belt back on by taking a large wrench and affixing it to the bolt head holding the pulley which you want to slip the belt on. Hold the belt firmly against the pulley and turn the wrench and the belt in the grove will walk around the pulley until it slips in place.
