My NewAir Portable Ice Maker no longer makes ice. It pumps water up into the resvior but the fan motor never turns on and it does not freeze the water. Why is it acting this way?

Is no longer making ice. Actually, I have a New Air A1-100R, but was not listed under products. It pumps water up into the reservoir but never freeze the ice. Why?

The fan sensor that looks like a silver bullet shoved in a holder on close to the fan is bad. Cut it and twist wires together and put a wire nut on it. That should do it.

Is the compressor hot? if so, the fan might be dead. the condenser needs air flow to cool down. if the compressor doesn't even turn on, the starter coil (inside the box on the front of the compressor) may be shot.

Have 4 yo Newair under counter ice machine. The ice machine runs through its normal cycle but there is no ice made only cold water is dumped into the ice bin.

According to Newair, the ice maker may be leaking coolant, which requires a "qualified technician" to fix. Check to see if there are any oily substances leaking from the device. Also, the device may be in too warm of an environment (but if it has been working in the past where it is placed now and that environment's conditions haven't changed, I personally don't believe this is the issue). On another note, the water in the reservoir may be too warm, so try filling it with colder water.

Ice maker won't make ice

most times I see the tray and fill tube ice up its due to a leaky fill valve , this valve should close tight after filling tray , but sometimes they leak just slightly then everything freezes up in a block of ice

fill valves on most all units is located in back lower left corner , just follow the water line in the back of unit

My newair A1200ss stopped making ice. i tried recycling the unit and it has ample water, but the ice tray just stays in the down position. thanks.

I have had the same problem with two different portable ice makers, the ice tray inside is broken so you will have to send it to them and get it fixed. Hopefully eventually they will make the tray out of a stronger plastic.
