Window comes up off center, How to put window into center. IBM R51

Sometimes this is caused by a loose video cable. Try taking off the keyboard and gently pull up & then reseat the video cable.
Plz be sure to do this with the machine unplugged AND battery removed.

KEYBOARD NOT FUNCTIONING AND CONTINOUSLY BEEPING SOUNDS ON IBM THINKPAD R51 LAPTOP

Could be the keyboard has shorted out, maybe something was spilled on it? You can either get a cheap replacement keyboard from ebay (be sure to match the make/model & size) or you can just plug a usb keyboard in & use that. Once into windows go to device manager (right click My Computer on Desktop & click Properties, Hardware) & disable the IBM onboard keyboard.

How do I install the extra memory under the keyboard for a ThinkPad R51 Series (Type 1830)? Which screws on the bottom do I take out? They are numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. in groups. I am sure I don't...

You can find the Hardware and Maintenance Manual here, which gives all the details on removing the keyboard. But this model ships with the standard memory under the keyboard (in a single DIMM socket). Optional memory (again, just a single available socket) is installed from the bottom of the computer. You don't need to remove the keyboard, just loosen one screw that secures the cover over the memory socket. Page 71 in the manual shows the location.
