Whirlpool adg 6340. filled the washer as usual, turned dial to 30 mark and pressed start button. nothing happened except for the start light and the 30 light pulse flashing. Machine does not operate
Discovered that the dishwasher was covered by our household insurance policy. Phoned and arranged for it to be repaired or replaced (no charge). Engineer coming on Friday.

Hi
.
Ok try this and see what happens.
.
Hold the start button again till it beeps
Then select the first cycle on the left which should be the rinse cycle
Then turn the dishwasher off
Then press and hold the start button and with this held in turn the dishwasher on.
Once the start light is flashing let go
Now press the start button once and close the door.
.
Now it will run a 12 minute test cycle. If it goes wrong it will drain the water out and beep. So open the door and count the number of flashes from the start light inbetween the pause and let me know.
.
Regards
Motor brushes, worse case scenario motor complete. Run the following motor test. 1. Put main dial to off 2. Press and hold start button whilst turning dial one click to left (easycare 30). 3. When display show 8.88 or two of the progress light come on, release the start button 4. Turn dial anticlockwise to 60 cotton (take the long way, NOT thru OFF or you'll have to start over) 5. Press start
6. Motor should rotate in both directions, pump runs, motor kicks up to full spin. 7. No motor action and two lights flashing on progress lights (separated by a light that's not on) indicates a motor fault. As suggested brushes or complete motor. Hope this helps
sounds like central control unit problem, you can check for diagnostic mode operation by setting (door closed) drain/spin, no spin, pressing prewash 4 times in 5 secs pressing prewash again will advance through diagnostic cycle. replacing user interface may also be necessary
remove bottom cover look for tech sheet usually on right side of cabinet at bottom fh is usually a water fill issue drain may be siphoning water may be slow filling or bad flow meter flow meter may be harder to diagnois but try tapping lightly with screwdriver (it's the round object left side with 2 small hoses attached ) slim chance may be pressure switch left side rear corner
Okay...try unplugging the washer for AT LEAST 30 minutes. This will often cure momentary glitches with the washer computer. After the washer has been reset, attempt the start a load and let me know if it functions normally. If it doesn't, let me know what the front panel display reads.
