What is the error code E8 on Voltas cassette AC unit?
An E8 error usually indicates a fan problem with the indoor or outdoor unit. An E8 error is usually cleared by power cycling both the indoor and outdoor unit by turning power off at the breaker. Be sure to check the indoor air filters are not dirty and blocking air flow from the fan.
F8: This error code shows up only when there is an issue with the outdoor ambient temperature sensor. F9: This error code shows up only when there is an issue with the outdoor DC fan. P2: This error code shows up only when there is an issue with the Compressor phase current protection.

Voltas AC Error Codes list: Know the meaning of all these
Constant Green - TV is Powered On
Constant Red - Lamp Failure
Constant Yellow - DMD temp is very high Blinking Yellow - Lamp cover is open
1 Red Blink, 6 Yellow Blinks - Color Wheel Failure
3 Red Blinks, 4 Yellow Blinks - Lamp Failure
3 Red Blinks, 6 Yellow Blinks - Exhaust Fan Not Working
3 Red Blinks, 7 Yellow Blinks - DMD Fan is not rotating
5 Red Blinks, 7 Yellow Blinks - Ballast Problem
6 Red Blinks, 6 Yellow Blinks - Lamp Missing, Bad Cable between lamp and ballast
And the Lamp cover must be here somewhere in your TV :
Mitsubishi TV troubleshooting Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds. The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence. For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37. Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem: 12 = No error detected, check power supply. 32 = Lamp Cover is open. 33 = Air filter cover is open. 34 = Lamp abnormality 36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped) 37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped 38 = Lamp Temperature High 39 = DMD Temperature High 41 = Short is detected 44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected
error code 37 is either the dmd fan or the lamp fan. you can see the dmd fan with the cover off. you cannot set the lamp fan as it is under the light engine. I guess the easiest thing to do is get a lamp fan 299P282010 and a dmd fan 299P283010 and change them both.
the status light blinking red means a fan (the unit hs 4 of them) has failed. you need to determine which one. use the self diagnostic function:
Error Code Operational Check
Note: The TV must be in “Shut Down” and not manually switched Off, to perform the Error Code Operational
Check. When the TV is switched Off, the code automatically resets to “12” No Error.
Press the front panel “DEVICE” and “MENU” buttons at the same time, and hold for 5 seconds to
activate the Error Code Operational Check. The LED will then flash denoting a two digit Code.
Note: The front panel buttons must be used, NOT those on the Remote Control.
• The number of flashes indicates the value of the MSD (tens digit) of the Error Code.
• The flashing then pauses for approximately 1/2 second.
• The LED then flashes indicating the value of the LSD (ones digit) of the Error Code.
Example: If the Error Code is “32”, the LED will flash three times, pause, and then flash two times.
• The Error Code is repeated a total of 5 times.
and read the code.
35= Chassis Fan failure
36 =Exhaust (Back Cover) or Lamp Ballast Fan failure
37= Engine (DMD or Lamp) Fan failure
After the lights on the front of the tv settle down, push and hold the menu and input (or deivice) buttons for 5 seconds. Now count the number of times the LED blinks and follow these instructions.
Cause #1
1. Self-diagnosis error 4-4, check for proper seating of the DVI cable between the FMT PCB and the DMD (Light Engine). It may be necessary to disconnect and reconnect this cable to insure proper connection. 2. Self-diagnosis error 4-4, check for 3.3 volts DC at connector J-9 pin 8 on the Engine Driver PCB, if missing check F9A06 part # 283P128050 on the Power PCB if this is open suspect the 3.3v regulator circuit on the Power PCB part # 930B921002 3. Self-diagnosis error 4-4, check for 3.3 volts DC at connector J-9 pin 8 on the Engine Driver PCB, if missing check F9A07 part # 283P128050 on the Power PCB, if open suspect it to have been opened by the Light Engine part # 939P977020 4. Self-diagnosis error 4-4, if the 3.3 volt supply at J-9 pin 8 is good and the connection on the DVI cable between the FMT PCB and DMD are secure, suspect the Light Engine part # 939P977020 5. Self-diagnosis error 4-1, suspect the Power PCB part # 930B921002
I found this list of codes Error Code Probable Cause 12 No error detected 22 Recovery from momentary Reset 32 Lamp Cover open 33 Air Filter Cover open 34 Lamp abnormality 35 Chassis Fan failure 36 Exhaust (Back Cover) or Lamp Ballast Fan failure 37 Engine (DMD or Lamp) Fan failure 38 Excess Lamp Temperature 39 Excess DMD Temperature 41 Short Detected 44 DVI Cable (between Chassis and Engine) disconnected
cutta, you will most often hear a click on boot then the fans start up and lamp will then fire. The picture will start to show up....at what point does it shut off? and do you hear a click when the tv is turning off? Is it the complete tv shutting down, fans and everything that turns off? Do you see any lights on the the front panel "POWER", "STATUS" or "LAMP", what are they doing?
If you see a Power, Status or Lamp light after it shuts off the below are what they mean if there is an issue.
POWER - STATUS - LAMP - CONDITION/ISSUE:
Off - Yellow - Off - Temp. high/dirty filter/excess room temp
Off - Off - Yellow - 4000 hrs. Lamp usage warning
Off - Off - Blink Yellow - Lamp Cover open
Off - Blink Yellow - Off - Air Filter Cover open
Off - Off - Red - Lamp failure (failed to turn On or broken)
Off - Blink Red - Off - Fan Has Stopped
Off - Red - Off - Circuit failure (short) or DVI cable disconnected
If you want to check for the last "Error Code", after you first turn the TV on, by pressing the front panel ?DEVICE? and ?MENU? buttons at the same time and holding them for 5 seconds, it activates the Error Code Mode.
The ?Power LED Light? blinks/flashes (1/2 sec delay) and then flashes again denoting a two digit Error Code indicating no problem or an error has occured since the last Initalization. i.e. "Power light" blinks 3 times (1/2 second delay) and then blinks 4 times then 1 sec delay and repeats a few times. This would mean "Error 34 - Lamp abnormality". See below for error codes.....
Error Code - Description or issue
12 - No Error detected, check Power Supply
32 - Lamp Cover is open
33 - Air Filter Cover is open
34 - Lamp abnormality
36 - Light Engine (DMD or LAMP Fan stopped)
37 - Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 - Lamp temperature high
39 - DMD temperature high
41 - Short is detected
44 - DVI cable between FMT & Engine disconnected.
Sorry for the long answer but it was an open ended question.
