SOURCE: Whirlpool RBS305PDQ11. After self-clean, oven won't heat up.

This seems to be a common problem with these ovens. The oven got too hot and the tco (Thermo cut off)tripped. This will have to be replaced. It is located behind the control board.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Double oven - control panel stopped working

Atlanta...sounds like you may have a power supply problem or the panel is bad. Cut the power, open the unit up and see if there is a fuse in there or a reset. No good? Then replace the circuit board. They just, well, die sometime. Happened to my microwave. Some units may be available remanufactured. Look around on the web.

SOURCE: Dead Whirlpool Double Oven

This happened to us the first time we used the self-cleaning feature. The repairman said we had to replace the whole electronic panel -- but when he put in the new panel it didn't work either. It turned out he just needed to replace the oven shutdown thermal fuse I believe. We finally got up enough courage to try the self-cleaning again and the exact thing happened. The door is locked and the electronic panel is dead again. So when we get it fixed we will never use the self-clean again.

SOURCE: Whirlpool electric double oven #RBD305PDQ14 control panel blank

The control panel part on my Whirlpool double oven (part #8302319) went blank six months back. Replaced it. Asked if there was a warranty on the part, was told no there was not. Yesterday, the six month old control panel went blank. Disappointed that Whirlpool manufactures such garbage.

Whirlpool self cleaning oven Model RBD245 door will not open after self cleaning cycle

Whirlpools are notorious for tripping the thermal fuse on the back of the oven but there is a thermal fuse to the control board also on most electronic control models. It is a good chance you will need to replace both fuses.

Clean mode electric current went off was off 10mentis when it came back on oven didnt

I have a whirlpool double oven too and replaced the control board last year the problem started with a F06 code and would reset when I power cycled for a while until it completely quit. Changing the control board fixed that problem. I just used my self cleaning cycle recently and the oven went completely blank on the control panel. Power cycle didn't do any thing. I checked 2 of the thermal cutoff fuses that are shown on most of the parts listing but the problem was with one that is not shown. The link below will get you to the part I replaced it's the power feed to the control board. Turns out that the worst thing you can do to your oven is use the self clean feature. Oven Thermal Fuse

Kitchenade

Kitchenaid is made by Whirlpool. They have had a problem with the self clean getting too hot and shutting down the control board thermal fuse. If you can access the control board. (power off) there should be a small inline thermal fuse attached to a connector usually on the far right of the control board. It is encased in a clear plastic tube. Test this for continuity. If it is bad replace this fuse and the display should come back on. They also have a thermal fuse on the back of the oven that usually goes out at the same time. If the oven and broil don't work after fixing the control board thermal fuse. then you will have to pull the oven out enough to take the back panel off and check this fuse.

My kenmore W&R locked to start the cleaning process and never turned on, but now won't open. It's been 4 hours.

Verify that the Whirlpool oven is connected to its power source. The oven may sometimes lock down if experiencing a power surge or similar electrical problems. Additionally, check that a fuse hasn't been blown in your home's fuse box. Some older homes may not have the proper wiring to support a high-powered appliance such as a Whirlpool oven. If you are not sure if your wiring is sufficient, consult a local electrician.
  • Check to see if the Whirlpool oven's Control Lock has been turned on, a safety mechanism designed to lock the oven and disable its keypad and display controls. A padlock symbol will be displayed in the corner of the Whirlpool oven's front display panel if it is locked. The oven will not unlock itself on its own even if it is disconnected from its power source. To disable, press and hold the "3" button on the keypad for five seconds until the padlock icon disappears.
  • See if the Whirlpool oven is engaged in its self-cleaning cycle. During the self-cleaning process, the stove will lock its front door and will flash "OVEN LOCKED" on its front display. This is to prevent users from accidentally opening the oven and burning themselves during the high-heat segment in the cleaning process. If you must open the oven, first stop the process by pressing and holding the "OFF/CANCEL" button on the stove's control panel. If the oven remains locked, wait for the internal temperatures to decrease. The locking mechanism is temperature controlled and will not unlock until internal temperatures have cooled.
  • Contact Whirlpool's service department if your Whirlpool oven remains locked and you cannot troubleshoot it or open it. All Whirlpool self-cleaning ovens are covered for five years after the original purchase date. Call the warranty team for assistance by dialing toll-free (800) 253-1301 in the United States, or (800) 807-6777 in Canada. Be prepared to give the oven's model number and purchase date
