I rent and the landlord owns the washer. It is a Maytag front load stackable washer. Model # MHWZ400TQ01. I had used it once a week for about 6 months. I is over 5 years old. I noticed a tear in the rubber gasket/seal and reported it to the landlord. He immediatly told me it was my fault as a piece of my clothing must've become stuck in it. I did not see any signs of anything being stuck nor have I ever overloaded it. I push the load of laundry into the back everytiime I was a load. I am very consciensous of this type of stuff as I was once a homeowner and have always used my own appliances. Is it possibl that this could be due to normal wear and tear. Thank you

Issue him with a written notice of the tear ( also take a photo) so that he cannot blame you for the problem
It is not your fault but normal wear and tear for a machine that old
It sounds like he is trying it on so that you have to fix it
unfortunately it is his machine and repairs are his responsibility regardless of how rough or careful you are
if push comes to shove talk with a lawyer

SOURCE: lopsided during spin

This can be caused by a brake that has failed.  Try to spin inner tub with washer off.  It should NOT turn.  If it turns the brake is bad and is allowing the tub to spin when agitating.  This causes clthes to bunch up.

SOURCE: strong mold smell inside washer

Powder is tuff on a front loader, liquid is the way to go. One solution is to use a ratio of 2 Tbls of soap to 1 Tbls of softener as this machine uses 70% less water and this makes the solution of soap much stronger causing a build in the back bottom of the tub. Every one I have rebuilt has had to be scrapped out because of excess soap, liquid or powder. This stuff turns black and is awful. I usually use washer magic only and knowing that one use will not remove even 3 years of build up but is a process of reversing the junk. So I will by one from Walmart for about 4 bucks and pour the contents into the machine will empty of clothes and water and let it sit over night to start breaking the stuff down, then in the morning I will run hot water in the closet sink to the machine so when I start the cycle the water is hot. So after soaking you want hot water with a heavy agitation plus a second rinse and that will remove half of the junk. I usually do this every month on my top loader because of hard water and my clothes do smell much better for it

What is the wire harness on a Maytag epic z front load washer?

In the Maytag MHWZ400TQ01 washer model, the wire harnesses refer to the various electrical connectors and wiring throughout the machine. They connect the different components, such as the control board, motor, sensors, and other electrical parts.
To locate the wire harnesses and check them for any issues, you'll typically need to access the inner components of the washer. Here are some steps to follow:
  1. Unplug the washer: Ensure the washer is disconnected from the power supply for safety.
  2. Remove the top panel: Look for screws at the back of the washer holding the top panel in place. Remove these screws and slide the top panel backward or lift it up, depending on the model, to access the internal components.
  3. Locate the wire harnesses: Once the top panel is removed, you should see various wire harnesses connected to different components. They are typically bundles of wires with connectors at the ends. These connectors plug into corresponding receptacles on the components.
  4. Inspect the wire harnesses: Check each wire harness for any signs of damage, such as loose connections, frayed wires, or connectors not properly seated. Ensure all connections are secure and properly plugged in.
  5. Repair or replace as needed: If you find any damaged wire harnesses, you may need to repair or replace them. Repairing involves fixing loose connections or re-crimping connectors. If a wire harness is severely damaged, it's best to replace it with a new one.
As for obtaining a diagram or parts list specific to your washer model, it's recommended to visit the Maytag website or contact their customer support. They can provide you with the necessary documentation or direct you to resources that can help you identify and locate the parts in your washer.
Remember to exercise caution when working with electrical components and ensure the washer is completely disconnected from the power supply before performing any inspections or repairs. If you're unsure or uncomfortable with these procedures, it's best to consult a qualified technician for assistance.

I have just rented an apartment with a Haier Front Load Clothes Washer & Dryer Combo XQG65-11SU. It says we need to clean the lint trap after every use. We can't access the lint trap. How do we...

Lint traps are usually inside the front door housing.check for spring loaded latch.it is never necessary to actually dismantle any major part on dryers otherwise it would not be user friendly.go online if you don't have the manual and check on the basic maintenance of the dryer.if it is a condenser dryer you might want to look at the bottom filter which is usually behind the kick plate...again easily accessed.

Maytag front lead stackable

That is correct. Take the screws out of the console up top. look for a burn mark on your circuit board. If it's on R11, replaced your door lock wax motor as well at the board.
