It is not possible to scan to email anymore. Also the copier makes noise when copying and the result is blurred and illegible.

I had this CD Rom drive in my older PC (200 MHz). I was able to rip audio CD's to MP3 with no problem. I used the program Cool Edit Pro. I would look to see if it's a setting with your sound card. Check to see if there are any settings that select the recording source. There has to be a path set up to record from the CD rom. With cables, you might also try taking the audio out from the sound card and feeding that into the audio in port on the sound card.
