Click on windows Start menu button and select Devices and Printers option on right side of menu. There you will find you list of printers on printers and faxes tab. Right click on HP deskjet D2530 printer and select Set as default printer.

Then try to print your documents.

SOURCE: everytime I try to print something, my windows vista home premium notebook pc wants to save the document as a PDF document INSTEAD of printing to my HP deskjet D2530 what am I to do?

  1. go to "control panel"
  2. select "Devices and Printer"
  3. right click the printer you wish to print to
  4. click "set as default printer"
If this does not help,
try selecting "print as" or "print..."(notice the three dots)
these options should allow you to select the device you wish to print to before printing.
Select the printer you wish to print to in the drop down box at the upper portion of the window and select print

Hope this helps

.prn files are generated when a user selects the "Print to File" check box in the print window. Make sure that that check box is unchecked. If you are using quick-print, instead of going through the print menu, try going through the print menu to ensure you are not 'printing to file'.

How do I get XP files I haved saved to print on my Vista system? When I download old xp files to vista they're blurry and they print blurry.

It should not matter

Try checking your printer
See if there's still enough ink on it to print.

You can also try to clean the ink cartridges nozzles

Printer prints more copies than indicated. Driver reinstalled multiple times.

I don't know if this will help but I have had similar problems. I would notice that one or two particular programs would print more than one copy and others were just fine. Try checking the preferences on the actual programs. Some programs retain their last qty request and don't change unless you change it. For instance, you request a program to give you two copies of a particular document and everything works fine. Then a day later you are in the same program and need only one copy of a document and you get two instead. This is because there is something set in the program or the preferences of your printing device that causes it to retain the last requested quantity for printing. Next time you print check the print dialog box and see how many copies it is showing will be printed. Hope this helps.

Hi,

You have tried a couple of times for Live Session but for some reason, the "Conversation is closed or you can not access this conversation." always shows up.

Perhaps another expert has responded, perhaps the site is too busy or for whatever reason if you still need assistance you could also try the Premium Solution.

Good luck and kind regards.
