Question about Element Electronics Televison & Video

1 Answer

I just bought an element TV and I am using a coax cable to hook it up to cable, I do not have a box or anything just straight from the wall. However, I am only able to get like 22 channels. All of my roommates are able to get all of our channels. I was told I needed to put a code in but I cannot figure out where to put the code. They have all the codes listed online I just need to know where to put the code in at.

SOURCE: Philips flat tv. Can't get it to hook up to dish

I should be channel 3 or 4. This assumes that this coax cable is coming out as a TV R.F. connection of a Dish Network Box (Satellite Receiver) intended for direct connection to an old fashioned NTSC (channels 2-13, 14-83, possibly even has cable channels depending on how old?) TV.

If this coax is the output of a coax going directly to the Satellite Dish or through what might might look to you like some kind of fancy splitter (called a Multi-Switch) the you WOULD NOT want to hook that to your old NTSC tv. The frequency is too high ... etc. etc... you would need Dish Box (as you call it) a.k.a. a Satellite receiver - with a good and active satellite card from your provider.

How do i hook up mono tv with eterxnal speakers with a dvr box

If the DVR has RCA-type connectors, yellow to yellow for picture, and white to white for sound. Tune tv to line input.
If the DVR supports outputting everything on coax, use a piece of coax cable, and tune tv to channel 3.
Your coax cable from wall has to go into DVR first, then out to tv.

Can't turn off the closed captioning

I had the same problem. Okay, First get the TV remote. not a cable box remote. Next, switch the input to an Analog input. (TV or input one if you have the RC red, white and yellow hook up. or, just hook up the coax cable straight to the TV..
Now, use the TV remote to operate the closed caption. It will work like it should.\
Briefly, closed caption works on the TV with a straight hook up to the TV. It will not work with a cable box.

I am unable to get my vcr to record. To use my vcr i have to turn my tv to channel 3. Our cable company uses channel 4. Please help

If the tv is working with the cable box with the coax to channel 4 ( then with this configuration to send any signal to the VCR actually it is posible to use a splitter with coax and send the signal to the tv and vcr after the cable box. vcr has tobe in channel 4 also, all channel selection is done in the cable box then anything you see in the tv is recorded in vcr. BUT guess what: You maybe can try something else:
If you send the cable from the wall straight to the splitter and then from splitter to the TV and to VCR, now you can record differnt channel than you are watching in the tv but in this case scenario you need to send the vcr to the video input 1 of the tv to play what is record. Any way to install this TV and VCR you not always need to depend in the cable box.

Digital to analog converter box hookup

You will have to go to Radio Shack or Wall Mart, maybe Home Depot and get a matching transformer. That will have spade terminals on one end to connect to your tv and a round (75ohm male thread) to hook to your converter box.

Have you tried to run:
Coax from the wall to your cable box.
Coax from the cable box out to the VCR cable in.
Coax from the VCR cable out to your TV?

What connections does your TV have? RCA or coax?

Female coax connector in tv bad?

If your cable converter box has audio/video connections on the back of it,you don't need to worry about using that RF coax connector. Just hook it up the same way your DVD is hooked to the TV input jack. Get a 3-wire cable (yellow-red-white)hook it to the same colors on the back of the cable box and hook the other end to an unused input on the back of the TV. Then select that input with your remote and watch TV.
