there are a few reasons that it may not be ringing. First is that the notifications volume and ringer volume have been set to have different volumes. You can check this by tapping on the apps button (default is lower-right on home screen) then go to settings, and depending on your version of firmware installed, (i have sprint galaxy S3 SPH-L710 running stock KitKat 4.4.2 and will attempt to post screenshots for guidance) there may be tabs on top labelled "Connections," "My Device," "Accounts," and "More." If you don't have these tabs then you should be able to see the Sound option. First check if the volume is turned up. Go to Sound and then Volume and check to see that the sliders are towards the right (my phone is on silent due to not wanting to disturb anyone as it's night time.) If they are, then press OK and check the ringtone is not set to a quiet ringtone or silent. Have someone place a test call
There is no effective way to recognize the original and other one. Buy it from authorized dealer, is the only way. Keep in mind, the authorized dealers won't reduce much amount as discount. Do not forget to buy the bill; and the guarantee card, duly stamped s, with signature of the dealer. For any further service; if needed; you have to present these documents to the authorized service center for Samsung to get free service during warranty period.
In normal cases, Galaxy won't poise any problem. I do have one for about 2 years, without any problem till now. Gopakumar Gopalan Google
There are three ways to get to your settings.
1. Press the menu key. Select settings.
2. Swipe down from the top and press the gear icon in the top right.
3. Go to your apps and look towards the beginning .You will see a settings icon there.
If none of these allow you to access it then do a soft reset.
1. Shut down your phone.
2. Remove the battery for 10 seconds.
3. Replace the battery and turn on.
If after that you don't get any satisfaction you may have to do a factory reset. Keep in mind that you will lose everything on your phone so you should take steps to back up what you can before attempting it.
To do a factory reset I believe you turn the phone off then press the power button and the volume up buttons simultaneously to turn it back on. You be brought to a menu where you can choose an option to reset. Sorry if the key combination is wrong. I'm working from second hand memory. :p
may be your ringing volume is set to zero. to check, go to profiles. select personalize option for the activated profile(general) increase the ringing volume.
for the low volume, the fault is from the earpiece. Trust me, I faced this same problem and when I changed the ear piece, I began to hear calls clearly.
You could also get a earphone and use it to receive and make call pending the time you get the earpiece fixed. Earphone will even be much louder.
Concerning the flash, do some adjustment settings as you rightly suggested.
