We have a frigidaire sxs model that looks like the gallery models. We are just past our one year warranty and it was working earlier today, but tonight the water dispenser will no longer dispense water, and the freezer and refrigerator are warming up. It seems strange that both problems would happen at the same time. All lights still work, and you can hear something running, but I cannot be certain if it is the compressor or the fan. I think it is only the fan though. So I would assume our compressor may be out, but then why isn't the water working?
Okay, most likely, your problem is your fan motor, its making your evaporator becoming a block of ice freezing your water lines but its not circulating the cold air through your refrigerator. remove the panel from inside the freezer and see if it has become a big white block of ice and the fan motor is turning. some fan motors will not work with the door open so you must manually press the light switch and see if the fan is blowing air.
if fan blades are not turning, replace the fan motor. but if it is blowing air and there's a big block of ice, unplug your fridge and let it thaw out. if after melting your fridge is running again, there's something wrong with your defrost system. that means check and replace your defrost heating element, defrost thermostat and or defrost timer.
