Hi. Was searching around and you can actually go to the krups website(www.krupsusa.com) and download the appropriate manual for your coffemaker. Its best to know the model number as well as the model name. On the Bistro, the coffee maker side should be on the left and the expresso side on the right. on top of the coffee maker on the right side is a screw on top(black in color depending on year of model). Simply unscrew and fill with water to recommended lvl. I would download the instructions first and become familiar with the process as it heats up the water to extremely high pressure and heat. Good luck..J

Water steams away and nothing drips into the caraffe

I had this problem too and finally found a fix for it.

I don't know if the cause of this issue is the same for everyone experiencing the problem, but the issue for me was hard water. The fix is to run vinegar mixed with water through the machine quite a few times, until it starts to run normally.

If you do have hard water issues, it's recommended that you run vinegar or citric acid through the machine about once a month, to keep deposits from building up.

Icky stuff

I would suggest to disassemble the machine and clean individual parts, chunky orange is rust, which is not normal in the coffee machine tubing.
