OCE FX3000 Missing the OCR Software

How do reset the message on Oce fx3000

After you install the New Drum unit you need to reset the drum counter to be able to use the Oce FX3000 again. Open the front door cover (the one you open to replace the drum or toner ctg.) On the control pabel hit the clear/back key. The display should say something like reset drum? Hit 1 for yes, close the door and you should be up and running again.

Go to the Brother Solutions Center for your country or region. In the download page, download the full software suite for your OS. It should have a version of the ScanSoft application.

OCR software is usually a third-party program. Sometimes it is available on the original driver CD but it isn't included in the downloaded driver software. In the case of the CanoScan 4200F, the CD included the OmniPage SE OCR program. The SE indicates a Special Edition only bundled with the scanner and was only available for the OS versions that had been released when the scanner was first available. If you have the original CD (for Win98-XP), try to install the program using the Custom install option. (Check your current OS version. A 32-bit OS is more likely to support the OmniPage SE. With Windows Vista and 7, click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System to determine the version. x64 indicates a 64-bit OS. ) If your current computer doesn't have an optical drive, use an external optical drive to install the program.

If you do not have the CD or your OS is incompatible with the Omnipage version on the CD, you will need to either purchase OmnuPage ($99 with a rebate from many vendors), AbbySoft's OCR program or one of the other OCR programs. SimpleOCR is free for personal use, http://www.simpleocr.com/Info.asp . The biggest problem with the free OCR programs is that they do not handle documents with columns properly.

download the PC Suite software for w810 and install it on ur windows 7 pc. i took out my w810 and tested it with my windows 7 for you and it works. sync is working with outlook too. missing my w810

Then try to create a PDF or Scan and Edit text (OCR) to verify that the problem is fixed.

Sometimes companies only support only the basic drivers. The OCR software is on the CD (s) that came with the printer. Suggestion. Try to order the original CD from Lexmark., or search Ebay for programs that have OCR capability. You can use OCR programs from other vendors as long as they are stand-a-lone programs. Just make sure you have the original disc so as not to infringe on copyright privileges.

Note: you can buy OCR programs. Check Ebay and Amazon. They are usually better that the programs that come on the OEM disk.
