When I press shift 2, instead of getting @, I get '' , and vice versa . help!

see on your keyboard's keys, the symbols which is above is to be pressed by holding down the shift. As ! is above 1 so for ! you have to press Shift + 1, same as @ is above 2 show for @ you have to press Shift + 2, simalarly # is above three so for # you have to press Shift + 3........... is it clear.....then... :)) ... otherwise Ask me again.

Hi there.
The keyboard is set to English US, if you want standard UK keyboard settings go to the control panel, click on regional and language options, in regional options set both boxes to English (United Kingdom), you may have to restart the computer for the changes to take effect.

I haven't tried an external keyboard, so I'm not sure. A couple of other keys are working vice versa too.
I have the same problem with the external keyboard.
what happens when you plug an external keyboard in? Does the same thing happen?
