For a proper answer more info is needed. Here's a Briggs site that has spark plug gaps listed. Gap is not hyper critical for running.
.030-.045 will work. The only time I've seen gap matter was when it was too close like .005, the engine wouldn't run.

For 2.4L-- Allow a gap of 1.27 mm (0.050 in).

Tighten the spark plugs to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).
Apply dielectric lubricant GM P/N 12345579 (Canadian P/N 1974984 or equivalent to the insulator boots.

Identifying the Correct Spark Plug and Gap Try this link, but personally I buy pre-gapped plugs, makes it simple and takes the guess work out of it.

check gap on coil the gap on the points and also make sure the magnets are free of rust, the capacitor could be weak also.
