3 beeps on any button press, machine will not start, and will not go into service mode

I have a Maytag neptune MAH5500BWW washer. It beeps 3 times whenever I push a button, but none of the buttons, including Start and Stop do anything except beep 3 times. I have tried entering service mode by holding down the Delicates and Heavy Soil buttons together for 3 seconds, but nothing happens. I can't tell whether to throw it off a cliff or try to fix it. Please help!!!

I had a similar problem on my Neptune. All the machine would do is beep. I believed it was a stuck button so I got a new touch pad and that solved the problem. I also substituted a control board prior to buying the touch pad but the problem was the same.

Unplug the unit for 5 minutes to reset the control. if the control continues to remain locked, this will confirm board failuer and, you will need to replace this control board.

maytag neptune washers do have a motor problem and they have a kit to replace the motor and motor controller.
when the motor fails, it wont wash or spin. most units have a 5 year parts warranty and should be replaced with a free part, but you will have to pay an authorized servicer to do this.
if it is over 5 years then i would call maytag and see if they will help you with an authorization for repair.
most of the time they will provide the part for free. just call the 800 # and ask for help. they wont send you the part but might give you some help with the parts.
