Actually we have a 2KVA ups EATON branded, a good one, as our generator has gone wrong recently we want to buy an inverter, but the inverter alone costs 15000rs, in additional to it we need to purchase 4 batteries which cost an additional 25000rs, so what my question is that can we just add the batteries to the ups without purchasing a new inverter or should we have to purchase it, please reply thanks in advance whoever tries to solve my prolem, you will be the one who saves me a lot of money anyways, because if i experiment, i may spoil the ups or else i can save 1.5 grand
Yes you can but you need a coupler for the extra battery back, you can find one at an electronic store.
I think you need a little bit more information. He is right you can, may I suggest you look inside the UPS, count how many batteries you have, size and shape, and part number.
Aquire the same amount, put them in a simular box, attacth all the batteries identical as you see in the UPS. Also inside the UPS where you see the black lead, and red lead, there should be one set of addition black and red lead contact areas...attach leads additional leads to the terminals directly to the batteries, + to + and - to -. That should solve the problem.
You still spend money on batteries.
