An trigonometry wordproblem

Hi there,

Using the measurements you have given and calculating the others as follows:

Angle A= 30 degrees
Side b= 900 metres
Angle B= 60 degrees
Side b= 1558.845 metres

Therefore length of the slope = 1,800.0000000000002 metres (side c)

Hope this helps. Regards, James

This is a right angled triangle. A radio mast is 36m high(opposite), and the angle (adjacent) of elevation shown is 63 degrees. Work out the length of the hypotenuse.

It is not clear which angle you are talking about...

In one case the Hypot = 36/(cos(63)) meters. (about 79 meters)

The other case Hypot = 36/(cos(90-63)) meters (about 40 meters)

Stunt Kite keeps crashing

Unless there is a problem with the kite itself. Look for broken or bent connection bars. If there seems to be nothing wrong make sure you are somewhere with lots of wind. like the beach 10-15mph winds at least. Make sure the string is let out in equal lenghts (Most likely your problem) and just let it fly for a few minuts before attempting any tricks. If you can get it up and there is plenty of wind but it keeps crashing then add a tail to give the "bottom" of the kite some extra weight. Good Luck.
