I own a Casio fx-115MS calculator and i have a Maths GCSE exam on Thursday, the calaculator can currently work out number to the power of 2, 3 and -1 but no others.

Does anyone know how to change this so i can have any power?

There must be [ ^ ] or [ y^x ] button it's the function of the power so use it like this: x power y

Rate me, thanks.

The calculator does not have a TVM application, so you cannot perform these calculations.

It's a bit convoluted, and it only works for integers, but here's one way. Press MODE 4 to switch to BASE-N (integer) mode. If the screen doesn't read "Dec" then press the x^2 key. Now, to calculate m mod n, calculate m-m/n*n. No shortcuts, no rearranging. That's m minus m divided by n times n. You have to enter both numbers twice, but you will get the modulus.

Press MODE 1 to return to your previously scheduled calculations.

To calculate modulo with the FX-115MS calculator, follow these steps:

e.g.: 9%4=1

9 (minus) 9 (divide) 4 (times) 4 =

so, 9-9/4*4 will yield the correct answer of 1
