Water sprays out the diverter

I have a delta tub/shower faucet where the diverter for the shower head is located just below the single knob faucet control rather than on the tub spout like is typical in many old style faucets. When the water is turned on, water leaks out the diverter pull knob; when the diverter is pulled to activate the shower head, a strong stream of water shoots out from the diverter - it's kinda like a body wash! How do I remove the escutcheon plate behind the water control knob to troubleshoot this problem?

Remove hot/cold button in handle, remove screw/pull off handle. Remove the two screws in the wall plate/remove plate. Use a wrench to remove the diverter assembly. Get new diverter assy and reinstall eveything. You don't need to turn off the water.

When delta shower faucet turned on the water comes out of tub spout as well as the shower head, rough in valve is installed correctly with the word up, up

Sounds like the delta people forgot to install the diverter piece inside of valve body, small white plastic piece screwed into valve. If you take out valve you should see it up inside body

I recently move into a condo that has a Delta single lever Series 1400 single lever bathtub fixture. The bathtub has a shower nozzle that looks like it has been used. I cannot find where there is a button,...

Is there a button on the tub filler? How about the spout on the tub, does it lift up? If there is not a tub spout then it should be shower only, if it has a tub spout it has to have a lifter of some sort, the foto I found showed the little button lifter. Hope this helps.

Just installed a waterpic shower head, half the water comes out of faucet and half the shower head, any solutions?

If your tub spout has a knob that you lift to divert the water to the waterpic then replace it with a Delta service part #RP17453 pull down spout. It always sends 100% of the water to the shower head and will always snug tight to the wall.

Shower diverter push handle is squirting water out

If you are handy, the best solution is to call delta and have them send you a new diverter. They will need the model of your faucet. The new diverter will come with instructions on the install process. As far as fixing it without the new diverter, I don't believe you will be able to.

Delta T13090 faucet shower head working at the same time.

The only possible explaination is that the water is finding it easier to go up than down. Water is lazy, just like me. ;)

Use an allen key to remove the tub spout. It's underneath and awkward. Once the allen key is loose, the spout just slides off. Try running the water. This may solve your problem and all you'll need is a new tub spout. If not.....

Turn the water off to the house.

Use an allen key to remove the handle.

Use a phillips to remove the trim plate (2 screws). Cut the silicone around the trim if it's there (which, in a proper installation it shouldn't be, but...)

Unscrew the nut (usually chrome) holding the cartridge into the brass body of the valve. The cartridge pulls straight out. Check for restriction in the ports of the cartridge itself. Check for restriction in the line going down to the tub spout. If you can't find anything, replace the cartridge.

Reassemble & Enjoy!

Water only comes out shower head, won't come back out faucet. The shower plunger only puts water out shower head, not out faucet.

sounds like the diverter is jamed. it may be in the spout or a button in the escheuchon. if spout try to unjam the pull up knob or the pull down ring. if in the escheuchon remove part and replace.
