Hi,
First of all you need to check if the driver is installed. To check, click on Start > right click My Computer, click Manage, on the left side click Device Manager > check the right pane, you will see all the devices installed on your machine on that pane. Check if your wireless device is installed properly.
If it has no marks on it on the device manager, you might just need to enable the device itself. Most Dell computers uses Fn+F2 keys to activate the wireless. if it has a yellow mark, just install the driver and you're done.
Hope this works.. Regards...

enable/ disable Wifi. Make sure that it is on and with wireless light activated - Press and hold Fn and press F2 (Fn+F2). This will enable the wi-fi and you will be able to detect and connect to a wi-fi network
Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.
