This is usually a code for a motor disconnect. You probably just accidentally put a motor in freewheel. A more serious issue would be that the controller is not communicating with the motor because a wire had been damaged. Check for any cut wires on the motor cable

SOURCE: When I turn on controller

Do all of the speed lights flash at the same time or do they ripple from left to right? If they ripple from left to right the chair is in lock mode and you can use the unlock procedures from my tips to unlock. If they are all flashing at the same time you have an internal joystick problem and the joystick needs to be replaced Hope this helps

What does a flashing yellow light mean on the joystick? the light looks like the shape of a wrench.

Hi Judy,

According to Pride's troubleshooting documents the service indicator (wrench icon) will flash when a fault is detected by the dynamic controller.

The number of flashes, followed by a 2 second pause, indicates the issue. You will need to count the flashes to determine the cause and a possible solution.

I have typed the flash codes below, but you can also see them on a larger table here: http://www.fixya.com/support/p3641679-pride_jazzy_614_hd_jazzy_614hd/usermanual-6B42026-pdf

If you have a GC Controller 8 flashes indicate a control system fault. Check all connections - especially connections to power module and joystick.

Eight, pause, eight Power Module Fault - Check connections to the power module and batteries. The power module is located near the front of the chair under the base cover you will have to unplug the joystick then remove the seat and the cover. The wiring for your motors, batteries and joystick all plug into the power module. Check each connection to make sure they are in good and solid if you can pull it out easily then the wire was not in there locked push in each connector to make sure they are seated in the module. now you can plug the joystick back into the cable coming from the module without replacing the cover and seat. Turn on the joystick to check if you are still getting the error if you are then the power module will have to be replaced If the error is gone then unplug the joystick replace the cover and seat plug the joystick back in and power up then go for a ride Hope this helps

Pride 1121 wheelchair led 8bars flashing wont unlock batteries new ,the connections good. had just unloaded it ran it over a bump then it started flashing. Controler is bad or what? contiuity from motors...

trent618,

The 8 bar flashing lights indicate a possible control system trip. Without a serial Number or knowing which controller system you powerchair has, I will cover the common used controller systems for the model of powerchair you have.

If you have the Pilot or VSI control system the control system detects an internal problem within its self or the joystick, and I've seen it a couple of times when both the controller and joystick have an internal problem.

If you have the Pilot + or VR2 control system the control system detects an internal problem within its self and/or the joystick and/or a communications error between the joystick and controller. I've seen it once when the controller, joystick and cable between the joystick and controller being deffective. Due to the flashing lights and you have a Pilot + or VR2 there is a good chance the problem is the cable between the joystick and controller.

The possible solutions and repairs above will require the need for an authorized person to perform the tasks. Give the company that sold you the power chair a call, or anyone or different company which works on power mobility products as the part(s) needed will only be sold to authorized deallers or service providers.

Hope this helps, if so, please respond to this solution which will help others who may have the same question.
Thank you for using FixYa.

Problem with joystick on Jazzy 1103 ultra

You will need to take it in for repair. 8 bar flash usually means you have a bad joystick/controller. They can sometimes send it in to the manufacturer to have it repaired. Find a reputable dealer and relay this info to them.
