I deleted some photos through File Manager on my Motorola EX115 but was surprised to find that the phone memory usage went up from 50% to 80% after photos deletion. I wanted to free up some memory with the deletion but ended up the reverse. Can anyone explain why deleting files on the phone ended up with using more instead of less phone memory?

If this is you situation, then you may be interested in performing a master reset (or “hard reset”) on your phone. The master reset will effectively restore your phone back to the factory condition, inclusive of all settings. Be warned, any data that you have not backed up, photos you have not transferred, calendar settings, or messages you have not saved will be lost! Make sure you do this first, if possible!

Here is how you perform a Master Reset on the Motorola RAZR V3:
1. Open your phone up and go to “Settings”
2. Next go to the selection for “Initial Setup”
3. Next go to the selection for “Master Clear”
4. Then select to confirm the option.
5. Now enter the security code which should be “000000”
6. Finally press select or ok and the phone will reset itself to the factory condition

There must be a recycle bin somewhere within your phone that must have stored the deleted files perhaps.

Another explanation could be that instead of deleting those files you invariably succeeded in relocating them into another folder.

2 apps which could prove helpful are "ES file explorer" or "Share it"
Connect to the play store and download/install either of these.

Okay, go with ES file explorer apk

With ES file explorer, all media present or available, or stored in your phone/tablet will be displayed once you launch the app.

Moreover, there is a recycle bin folder (under Tools) which you will need to empty or 'Clear All' once you delete any files you don't want.
