Sony Hello I have Sony VAIO laptop VGA-SZ79MN i downgrade winxp on it and install all driver but 2 drivers is not working. Sound and Function Key for brithnees-Contrasplease help methanks regardsKashan

    Deae Xanthro,

    i download from both sides.
    when i download sound card driver from realteck website. that was only for PCI Sound card.
    bcuz when i install that is says,
    "Please Shutdown plug realtek PCI Card to complete the installation.
    i have laptop and please for function key also give me the solution.

I downgraded my Sony vaio laptop vgn fe855e to winxp but i cant download the winxp sound and LAN drivers
XP doesn't have many drivers as you have found out. You need a second computer that is on the Internet. Download Belarc to a USB drive and install it on the laptop. Belarc will tell you the names of the various devices so you can then attempt to find and download drivers.
This is not going to be an easy task since Sony does not provide XP drivers for this system. You'll have to google for them.

I'd suggest ring back Sony support and tell them that your OS is Windows 7 - not Vista. Therefore, you need the upgraded VGA driver because the Vista driver is incompatible with Windows 7. Hope it all goes well. If my suggestion works for you, please do rate me. Thanks

XP Drivers for Sony Vaio VGN-fw230j/b
It's probably not supported Sony.

You can try and downgrade but you might lose some functionality. I downgraded my Vista Gateway laptop to XP but had to spend a lot of time tracking down drivers that would work correctly.

You won't be able to just pop in an XP cd and install. You'll have to jump through a few hoops.

Since you have a newer laptop your hard drive uses sata drivers which the XP cd doesn't have built-in.

Sony Vaio VGN-FW25 function Key is not working
If you have downgraded, it means you reformatted your hard drive and installed a new operating system.
Now you must go to Sony's site and download the drivers for the motherboard, as they are not included in Windows.
You should be able to find your model at this link:

No sound devices on my sony vaio VGN-CR322H laptop
Pl check the whether all driver from OEM have been installed including MB and try to reinstall the driver it should work fine. or reinstall the SP2 for win XP. then install the OEM driver again, this should work, else there might be hardware problem.
