Easiest solution is to reinstall Vista.

You may be able to do this without losing your data (Do a Rpair rather than an Install) but I suspect that this will not remove the password.

I have not done what I am about to describe with Vista so I am not sure if this is even an option, but you may be asked to create User Accounts when repairing Vista (same as when doing an Install) - if this is the case you could create a new account and give it Administrator rights. When you restart the computer - enter as the Administrator and change the Attributes of the original account (remove the password). As I said, I don't know if this is an option with Vista.

Note: I have just uninstalled Vista for the second time (reverting back to XP), I may give Vista a go again when SP2 or SP3 comes out and then again I may not. So my knowledge and ability to experiment with Vista is now non limited or non existant.

Only OEM editions of Windows Vista Business and Vista Ultimate can be downgraded to Windows XP Professional. Microsoft offers no downgrade rights for Vista Home Basic or Home Premium.
