Bought turtle beach z11 headset, cant get mic to work

The Z11 has a four-pole input/output plug to connect the mic and the earphone. The earphone needs to be connected to the earphone jack and the mic needs to be connected to the mic input jack on the back of the computer. In other words, you should have to 3.5 mm plugs. Plugging both into the same jack will disconnect one or the other. Check your adapter, It should have two separate 3.5mm plugs. If it does, be sure they are connected to the right jacks on the computer. The headphone jack will have a headphone symbol; the mic jack will have a microphone symbol. Go to System Preferences, Sound. Select the line in preference for input and the line out preference for headphones. Just may work.

No sound for earphone, there are no rca jacks, the earphone is used to attach speakers, but there is no sound from the earphone jack

if their is a sound from the internal speaker then the problem is with in only in the earphone jack or in the connection. to access the internal part of the tv you need to remove the rear cover. locate the earphone jack terminal re soldered and check the connection at the board ( PCB). you can check also the continuity, attached powered pc speaker then use an analog tester and check weather their is a connection coming from the stereo input jack going to the terminal of the earphone jack of the tv. if no connection replace with new earphone jack. good luck hope this can helped.

The earphone jack connection produces sound in only one ear. Partially with drawing the jack produces sound in both ears. Clearly, the jack is not making a good connection once inside its 'port'.

Hi,
This is usually the result of faulty earphones. Try replacing the earphones you are using with the ipod and it should work normally.
Good Luck!

No SOUND

If it has an earphone jack try to hook up your headset just to get hint if your problem is in the sound output ic. Listen carefully to your headset if there is a sound or none. If you hear a sound then you the trouble is in between the earphone jack or to your speaker. Just test the speaker and you will isolate the problem. How to test the speaker if good, simple got a battery (either AAA,AA,C,D size) then tap the speaker across the battery when you hear a crackling sound then it is good. If you confirm that the speaker is good then the faulty parts is your earphone jack, replacing it will cure the problem. If you don't hear a sound then through your earphone then the trouble is in the output I.C. or some parts around it and you need a technician to isolate the problem.

If you don't have an earphone jack then I've advice you to look for a qualified technician to look for a defective parts on the sound section.
Thanks for using fixya...

I have turned the tv on and in the top right hand corner there is a symbol for earphones and i cant get the normal sound back on

yoiu likely have a sound output selection in you setup menu .. or in some sets they sense the fact that ear phones are plugged in (switch in the ear phone jack) .. and that automatically shuts off the main speakers .. sometimes the ear phone jack gets damaged and the set thinks there is always an earphone plugged in .. if thats the case then the jack would have to be replaced or repaired ... or you could for the time being, run a cable from the ear phone jack to an external amplified speaker (like a computer speaker .. that would get your sound back at least until repairs can be made ..

-mate JAM Pocket PC Problem

Try putting in earphones and check. Sometimes the contact inside the earphone jack jams against each other and then the phone thinks there are earphones plugged in thus bypassing the speaker.
