When you open the back cover, the black plastic piece came out. Tried putting it back in now all scans come out the back instead of the u-turn. It seems switch for u-turn has no leverage on anything.

My dear wife took the lid handle off our breville gourmet wok. The pieces include a screw, a spring and 3 other parts. Im not sure if i put it together properly. Could you help out. Thanks

This is for assembling the Breville Wok lid. This has a built in vent that lets steam escape during cooking. There are 8 pieces not including the glass cover: bolt, metal vent, black O ring, tan round plastic piece, black lid piece (has open/close) on it, spring, clear plastic seal, lid handle.
Order of assembly as follows, starting on inside of glass cover.1. Bolt.2. Metal vent piece sits on top of bolt.3. Black O ring fits snuggly onto of vent piece.Insert what you have assembled against inside of glass cover, bolt poking through topside of glass.4. Add tan plastic piece with 3 prongs going facedown against the glass hole of cover.5. Larger black lid piece goes next. You will need to line up the openings on tan piece and this lid piece so that it sits semi-flush against glass. When complete this piece will turn in place to open/close vent (less than 1/4 turn before stopping).6. Add clear plastic seal to underside of handle.7. Place spring between handle and top of black lid piece and screw together until snug.
Test lid by turning lid piece. It should move back and forth according to the open/close print on top. If no luck, go to step 5 and try again. It is a little tricky, but does work when done correctly.

When attempting to print, the printer window gives me the message Back Cover is Open Checked the back, opened it, removed the paper that was stuck on the roller and tried again. Same message comes up. What...

hello, when you are looking at the back end of printer, open up cover, the cover will open and stop, look further in and you will a black guide, or black plastic, open that up, if it does not open on its own, there is a piece of plastic that might look like a stick, sometimes this will get stuck, use a flashlight, and you will see haw this thing works, if it does not move freely, it will trigger rear door open, be carefull with this piece of plastic, it does break. again it will trigger an open rear door error.

HPcolor laserjet 2840 clicking with message "scanner bulb warming

Removal instructions:

1) unplug everything and move the unit to where you can work on it.

2) Remove the paper, and remove the hinged lid (tilt the lid to the up position and lift directly up and off).

3) Remove the push button cover which lifts directly off - straight up.

4) At the top of the button control module is a recessed release clip. Use a flat blade screwdriver and push down on the clip. While pushing down, slide the control button assembly down. lift the outside edge up (there are straight clips on the inside edge). Lift up slowly as the connection cable needs to be unplugged. the cable itself unplugs. Just pull down evenly grasping the top blue laminated section. The blue goes to the outside (contacts go to contacts on the inside). Set the button control unit aside.

5) Using a #10 Torx screwdriver, loosen the two screws in the back corners of the glass cover assembly. Lift the glass assembly up (like changing an ink cartridge), and pull the front lip left and right forward - there are two clips at these locations. Pull forward and lift up. Remove the glass cover assembly off and set aside. Note, tip over and remove the scews (best to remove and put back in after the cover is back fully in place). In reassembly, be sure to feed the control button cable back through the hole, and that it goes back into place the way it came out (including folding back into the slot under the button control assmebly).

6) The black plastic cover has two metal clips visible. These are not the release clips (they hold a glass piece in place under the black plastic cover). The release clips are outboard of these metal clips and are two slots. Insert a small flat blade screw driver, and push the handle toward the center. While prying, lift the cover at that end up, pry the other end and lift the black plastic cover off.

7)While you're in there, you might as well clean the mirrors (THERE ARE FIVE OF THEM)and glass. At the front of the lamp on the botton, the lamp wires lead to a white two piece plastic connector. Unplug the lamp wires. Where the lamp is, toward the front is a black philips screw in the clear plastic piece that holds the front end of the lamp. Remove this screw, and lift the clear plastic piece with the front end of the lamp up slightly, and then pull the full lamp assembly forward and out. This will open the space to the mirrors and glass. Use a Q-Tip and small pieces of paper towell and glass cleaner to clean the mirrors and glass strips. I tried to remove these to clean them, but the metal clips were too tight.. better to clean it all in place. BE SURE TO CLEAN THE EYE!!!!!

8) Clean the bottom of the glass top assembly.

9) Reverse the above to reassemble. Be sure to plug the lamp back in, and the button control assembly. Leave the black plastic cover off.

10) Place the glass top assembly back in place, and snap it down before dropping the screws in the back holes.

Don't know why, but you should be good to go.

After doing the above if in a few weeks you get the same msg again go back in there and take the black top off the housing that the mirrors are in and leave it off!!!! sound crazy but it has been working on a lot of the machines that come in here.

Black Line when using sheet feeder

Open the cover over the scanning area and check the narrow strip of glass to the left of the platen glass. See if there is any foreign material there (dirt, whiteout, etc) and clean it gently with a damp cloth. You may find a piece of clear plastic covering that area. It's there to keep the glass from getting scratched. If the plastic is heavily scratched at that point, it can cause the line you're seeing. Removing the plastic will clean up the scans.

Lens cap stuck

I was messing around with this today, ended up where it seemed in was working.

Power up, let lens out, then take out batteries. Pry off silver band patiently using fingernails. Then pry off overlying black plastic piece. There are four units underneath, pay attention to how these are put on, mine popped off, but it wasn't too hard to figure out how to put back together. There are pins and holes and kind of fits like a jigsaw. Once off clean with alcohol where you can.

Put batteries back in and open and close a few times. This will help understand movement where pins of lens cover pieces go. When putting these back on make sure camera is in off position.

The lens cover pieces need to be put on so that the pin portion has some resistance. Move one so that it drops in then push up to get other in place. Let them come together and hold these in place.

The two smaller pieces will close the cover. Put the hole of the closer piece over the pin. Then move slightly so you can retract spring with a small instrument and subsequently engages pin on closer. Place top black piece back on, then silver.

This worked for me, hope it does you also! Good luck.

Brother Laser Printer MFC-7420

Ok I fixed this problem. It has to do with Tension on the rod inside the back cover. Open the back cover and remove it. Then emove the black plastic piece by un hooking it on the left side and pull it down then toward you. You will see a rod attached to it that runs to the right. The right end of the rod has a lever that travels in a slot on the right side of the printer. There is a small spring on the rod. Here lies your problem. There has to be enough tension on this spring to activate a switch in the slot on the right side of the printer. Make sure the spring is installed properly. This is a low tension spring so nothing will come flying out when you remoe it and re install it properly. A piece of paper can dislodge this spring. When you get it apart you can quickly see how it should be put back in. E-mail me if you need further help [email protected]
