Screen pixels not refreshing - Sony HVR-Z1 Mini DV Digital Camcorder

Acer produces a number of LCD computer monitors. Acer's monitors range from 17 inches to 27 inches. Some monitors offer wide-screen viewing, embedded speakers, high-definition visuals, and various display connection ports. Acer computer monitor problems include common issues such as dead pixels, error messages, and blank screens caused by incorrect connections. Some reviewers have also detected image problems with DVD playback on some models.

"Input Not Supported" Error Message Acer computer monitors such as the G24 may issue an "Input Not Supported" error message when users set the display resolution too high. The G24's maximum display resolution is 1920x1200 with a 60Hz refresh rate. Maximum resolutions vary according to the specific monitor model and according to the capabilities of the computer's video card. b> "Input Out of Range" b> Some Acer computer monitors may report an "Input Out of Range" error message due to incorrectly set monitor refresh rates. Much like the display resolution, each monitor also has specific monitor refresh rates with which it is compatible. Blank Screen or "No Signal" Error b> Like other monitors, Acer computer monitors feature color-coded power indicator lights. Faulty power cords or outlets may cause the screen to be black and to show no power indicator color. b> Image Issues b> Some review sites such as CNET have reported problems with streaking and ghosting during DVD playback on some Acer computer monitors such as the AL1931. (A "ghost" is an identical offset image as the primary or desired image.) Unstable or unclear image issues may be caused by incorrectly programmed VGA timings or incorrectly installed monitor drivers. b> Dead Pixels b> Dead pixels and sub-pixels can cause a variety of display enjoyment problems. Acer will only accept returns on LCD computer monitors that have "more than four (4) defective pixels per million pixels." Further, the central area of the monitor may have no more than one defective pixel. Acer does not differentiate in warranty terms between pixels and sub-pixels. Hope this helps.

The maximum resolution supported is 1280 x 1024 pixels at 65 Hz refresh rate, while the recommended resolution stands at 1024 x 768 pixels at 85 Hz. However, the maximum usable resolution is 1152 x 864 pixels at 75 Hz. Maximum usable resolution signifies the maximum resolution supported by a monitor at a refresh rate of 75 Hz or better. Though 85 Hz is an ideal refresh rate, 75 Hz is the lower limit. Any refresh rate, lower than 75 Hz, will give a flickered output and can cause some serious eye damage after prolonged usage...i hope this helps.

This would indicate that the display settings on the PC are outwith the acceptable range of the projector.
To solve this, right-click on a clear part of your PC desktop and select "Graphics Properties" (in Vista). You then need to adjust the display settings. That is a very old projector which will accept a maximum screen resolution of 1024 x768 pixels. Try changing that 1st. If it doesn't work, keep that screen resolution and also adjust the refresh rate in Hz until you get an image.
The native resolution of that projector is SVGA (800 x 600 pixels).

This usually happens when you select a resolution or a refresh rate that is beyond the monitor range. For example if your monitor supports a max. resolution of 1024x768 then if you give it a signal of 1600x1200 it will display out of range.

Solution of this problem is to reduce the resolution or refresh rate frequency.

Changing screen resolution in Windows XP: First right-click on the desktop and then left click on Properties from the menu that appears.

The display properties dialogue box will appear as shown in fig 1.1 below, click on the settings tab at the top right of the box.



The areas worth noting are:

This slide bar is what you use to change the resolution, the options you have will depend on your graphics card and monitor, but the standard options are 800x600, 1024x768 and 1152x864.

Normally the default (in XP) is set to 800x600 which means the display will be 800 pixels wide and 600 pixels high.

How to Change the Screen Refresh Rate of Your Monitor loadTOCNode(2, 'summary');

1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Appearance and Themes, and then click Display.
   
   Alternatively, right-click the desktop, and then click Properties.
2. Click the Settings tab, and then click Advanced.
3. Click the Monitor tab, and then click the screen refresh rate that you want to use.

NOTE:

• The default refresh rate setting is 60 Hertz (HZ); however, your monitor may support a higher setting. Check your manufacturer's documentation for information about the settings that your monitor supports.
• If you use a higher refresh rate, you can reduce the rate that your screen flickers; however, if you specify a refresh rate that is too high for your monitor, your screen may become unusable and your hardware may be damaged.
• Changes to the refresh rate affect all users that log on to the computer.

Most LCD monitors have a default refresh rate of 60 Hz. Older monitors also have limited resolution. Please check your display settings and ensure you're not using a refresh rate higher than 60, or a resolution higher than what it supports. If either one is the case, you're lucky the LCD still works.

You might have a Service Co. come out and look at it. It sounds like the Z module is not doing it's job of erasing all prior images after a scene change. Some models there are adjustments for that internally. ( only for a tech ) Start a paper trail now.

First of all, You have not specified that whether you are using any graphics Adapter OR not.

If you are not using any video adapter(Graphics Card):
Your problem may cause due to less aspects or if you have seted ur resolution at the rate which is outta your screen Reso;ution Range. To fix this problem it is recommended to set your screen Resolution at 1024 x 768 Pixels (Standard Setting).

For this You must follow the Following steps:

1. Right click on your Desktop screen.
2. Go to Proprties.
3. Select "Display Setting" tab.
4. Adjust your Screen Resolution at 1024 x 768 Pixels. Click ok
5. Apply the Setting.

Else if you are using any Video Adapter then Follow till step 4.
go to advance and then click "Monitor" tab and then check for "Refresh Rate". Increase or decrease the refresh Rate.

A shaded or dark spot on the screen is usually a bad pixel area and is caused by being hit or pressed to hard in that area. It could also be that the liquid crystal (LC in the LCD) in that area has become stagnant, try rubbing the area and around the area pressing firmly, just enough to see a color change in the screen area, but not too hard that the area turns black. Rubbing the area will move the liquid crystal around and sometimes refreshes a darkened area. If rubbing doesn't work, then it's a bad pixel area, and will eventually become a dead pixel area with time.

change windows resolution and refresh rate to 1024 X768 and 60 Hz.
start->control panel->display->settings-> change the screen resolution to 1024 by 768 pixels-> advanced-> monitor->change refresh rate to 60 Hz-> ok-> yes -> ok.

What is your monitor manufactoring year? Because old monitor could not set up to 1024x800 pixels. Please check the refresh rate also at the monitor property tab.
