Casio TE-2400 PLU programming

I'm about ready to return this cash register before i pull out all of my hair :(. I'm trying to program the PLUs. I got the tax status for each done (not sure how) but the actually pricing is driving me crazy! According to the 2 sets of directions that i received when I purchased it. . . i am to go into program 1, then put in the plu number press the plu key, enter the plu amount and press ca/ten. Well. . . i did that and now all the PLUs show up as the PLU # (i.e. PLU key 1 - - $0.01, PLU key 45 = $0.45) To make matters worse some of the PLU keys seem now require a condimate or preperation PLU?????????? While there is a description of these two items. . . there is no explanation on how it's programmed.
Help!!!!!. . . I also have the manual for programming via windows - good luck with that - you need to understand DOS! ! ! !
Is there somewhere that i can send my menu listing, keyboard set up, etc and a flash card - have the programming downloaded to it and then simply install it that way????

HELP

    Hi Mark
    you are awesome! ! !
I don't know why the manual couldn't give the programming steps so easily. The manual is for the TE2400, but it has additional key strokes which is what made this entire process such a nightmare. It almost seems like casio adds extra steps just to mess things up. Maybe they want people to pay for the programming.

Thanks again. . . I'll be in touch if I have any other problems. . . i'm going to start entering the names of the cashiers and PLUs

Hi. You have been given the wrong instructions. That is why it is now all screwed up. Pricing is dead easy. You have condiments setup because you have set key features in prog 3 mode. It shouldn't be too hard to fix. We'll start with prices: Turn key to Program mode Type the price (no decimal point) Press a PLU (item button) to set the price to. Press SUBTOTAL To remove condiments, you need prog 3 mode. While key is on program, press 3 then SUBTOTAL. The display must change to "P3" Now press 0 (zero) then one of the PLUs that has condiments set. Press SUBTOTAL to finish. It may remove the tax status, so turn back to REG mode and test the PLU. If the tax has gone, then reprogram the tax setting for that PLU. Let me know if you get stuck. Mark

Yeah, they give you every method of programming in the manual. If you know what you are looking for, it's all in there. They are really made for programmers as they expect you to know how to program registers in general.

Casio PCR T500. Does anyone know to set up tax so that: - If cash sale, there is no tax added - If card sale (Debit/Credit), I can add tax at once to all sale items (or after subtotal) Thank you

You don't do it at a dept level, you change it at the payment level.
Go into programming and choose key programming. Change the taxable status of the cash and other payment keys depending upon the desired status.

I need to change the tax 3 to 23 percent? But its only to some products, departments!?

Hi. Yes. If your machine has departments on the keyboard, then you need to set the status of the departments to include tax 1, 2 ,or 3 as required. If your machine has PLUs, you need to change the status of the PLUs.
If you need more information, there are manuals here: http://the-checkout-tech.com/cashregisters.php

How to program tax on a casio te 8700f register

Hi.
I have never heard of an 8700. I have info on the 8000 and 8500 so it may be similar to one of these. If it has never been programmed to use tax before, then I will need to know how your tax system operates. Do you use add-on, or add-in tax, how many rates? Are all PLUs taxed, or just some?
