I have a Frigidaire Dehumidifier, Model FAD704. the Clean Filter lights keeps coming on and the unit stops running. The filter is not dirty. I take it out and put it back in and unit runs for awhile and...

Hello Winl, thank you for your inquiry!

I see that you are having issues with your clean filter light coming on in your Frigidaire dehumidifier. From what you are describing it sounds like a possible issue with a sensor within your dehumidifier. I would recommend consulting with your manufacturer to see if they can provide any additional assistance towards a resolution. Best of luck! -OOS

Type of clouded fume from vent inside cabin

I hear your problem but im afraid its not a problem in some ways. you see on hilly terrain the engine is going above it's settings. its called altitude control . when the engine is made its set to sea level. with the ecu. this is not a problem with cars that run all the time on flat and slight inclines the ecu can control the air and fuel for this also having the a/c on will lower the engine performance as it puts more strain on the engine. what you will need to do is have your ecu updated. 4x4 dont have this problem as they have the extra setting all ready set to the ecu. some have not been set on them if they come with road tyres. but you can have yours update, also this that can help are a clean air filter clean idle intake , also checking for air leaks on the intake manifold and air lines. fuel filter changed regularly. spark plug's checked or changed. and egr cleaned out regularly ( every 2 years). driving up and down hills put a lot of strain on the engine gears bearings in the drive wheels and dif. the update will help with the fuel to air ratio for the more power to navigate up hills. but regular checks need to be done to keep the rest of the car to be able to do the hills. the smoke you getting out of the vets is the engine over hot. list will make the exhaust manifold come away from the engine just a bit but enough to let some smoke out. its like revving the engine to its limit driving up a hill. eventually the bolts will weaken and snap then you will have a loud blowing sound from the exhaust. the cat should be able to cope with the heat as they work better with more heat. but unburnt fuel can damage the cat. hope this helps you.

The a/c on my 2003 honda accord will all of a sudden stop blowing cold air. I already had the filter changed thinking that was the problem. The mechanic is having a hard time figuring out what is wrong...

have you tried refilling the aircon gas ?

It goes empty after a while.

The reason for cold then not cold is because it is a system that works in reverse of your radiator.

The gas cycle through the system. goes through the radiator of the the aircon system (not the same as the one for the engine). there is extracts the heat out of the air. the air is now cold and pushed into the car.

the warm aircon gas the made cold further along the system but the dont have enough in the system.

imagine athletic ruynning around a track. all 20 are bunched up together. there is w spot light in the centre of the infield shining on you.

the track is your aircon system.
the spot light the air coming into your car.
You are the car
The athletes are the aircon gas.

When they run between you and the light the air is cooled off and you are getting cold air.
now of goes the air (athletes) around the system and till they come along again you get hot air.

Now fill up the aircon system (put more runner on the track and voila, less light reached you cos there is more gas in the system.

However if you refill it and after a day or even just a week it the same again you have a leak in your system and will need to have it looked at by someone specializing in car aircon repairs.

Check filter light is on. I pulled it out but dont know how to clean it.

Hi,
Just take the filter to the kitchen sink or the bathtub or utility sink if you have one....turn the filter with the dirt down and then just run water through it to clean it off...

Air conditioner turns on then shuts itself off immediately

There's something wrong with your aircon. Usually the lights will start to blink. Depending on the brand and model, the number of times it blinks will give you an error code which tells you what's spoilt. You may like to check this out http://www.astiquer.com/blinking.html
