Has only happened when actually watching a movie. My Mitsubishi WS-55809 55 in. Rear Projection Television just turns off by itself. The funny thing is that my reciever and everything else is still running but just the tv turns off. Then it usually takes about 5 to 10 minutes to come back on after trying to push the power button several times. It almost seems as if it takes a cooling period then it allows me to turn it back on. I have switched the power supply and I have also plugged it into the wall by itself just to see...it still turns off when it wants in the middle of a movie. Rarely do we get to sit through an entire movie without it cutting off. It has never done this before. I have my tv and all of my components running through a Sony receiver. Could that be a problem? Is all that new stuff and technology to much for it to handle?

I believe you have an overheating problem. Unplug your set and go to the back, make shire all dust is free from the cooling holes. This should fix your problem. If not pull a little further from thevwall and put a personal fan blowing on the back. Hope this helps.
Hello There,
Its seems that the circuit board has problems.
You'll have to get it replaced ASAP before the board is ruined completely.
The same thing also happened to me 2-3 weeks ago. the techs came in and had to replace the board since 1 circuit was damaged.
It will cost around $100

Apparently I did not have the correct remote to go with this television. The remote I had was a Mitsubishi, but I was able to obtain one that had the 'format' button.
Yes, you need to replace the convergence output amplifier IC's. They can be ordered on line. After removing the back you must remove the circuit board which houses the amps. Then desolder them and install the replacemnts. If you are extremely lucky there won't be any re-alignment issues with the new amps. Then you should be good to go.
