Frigidaire FEF3666DC ElectricRange is 2 years old. Cook top and oven used last night and heard crackling for 10 seconds when Oven was turned on but everything worked fine. This morning stove top and oven will not heat but everything is powered up and light & panel indicators come on appropriately. Flipped breaker, unplugged and replugged and no luck ? any suggestions on what component fried, why and the fix?
I have a similar problem. My new stove has worked fine for months, but a couple of days ago, my oven refused to preheat. The broiler and stovetop work just fine--the oven just won't heat up. You will have to check that the switch is is working ok , with a vault meter check for voltage at the burner , if none check at the switch and so forth back to the wall switch, if there is vaults at the burner it is faulty .
According to your symptoms, it appears that you will need a new electronic oven control board. If nothing on the range heats, you could have a tripped breaker on the 120 volt L2 leg of 240 volt power. This would prevent the cook top burners and the oven elements from heating.

Sound like you make have a loose neutral on the cord where it attaches to the range or in the electrical receptacle where it plugs in, you can check the cord by pulling the range out, remove the small access cover to the cord connection area, after you have unplugged it and just tightened all the nuts to all connections on the cord. I advise an electrician to check the receptacle. I hope this has helped you. Have a great new year.
A blown oven element is possible. You may still be able to bake but the oven will seem to take forever to warm up. An easy check would be to crank the heat up full bore and put your hand near the top then the bottom. You should feel more intense heat the nearer you get to a working element.
Two possible reasons come to mind.
1. There most likely was a short circuit that activated the top unit. Was any part of the top glowing when you looked at it while it was crackling?
2. Be aware that glass tops CANNOT take as heavy a load of pots and pans as a STANDARD range can. The glass will crack. The stress can accumulate over a period of time and you will be left with the 4 am madness dim experienced.
If anyone out there finds themselves in a similar situation, don't wait when you hear the crackling. Pull the the range plug, or find the ranges circuit breaker in your electrical box and turn it off.
