Change the status to "Online". Sounds crazy, but most likely you print driver is set to enable "SNMP" on the port settings. Disbale this setting in the print driver, also set print Queue to "LPR" and name the LPR queue as "printer". Make sure there are no jobs int he queue when you change the port settings.
I tried both solutions and still cannot print. Silverswim how did you change the IP and Gateway info in the machine? Mine won't allow it ...

I tried this from larryab but it didnt help .
My printer is on a network, and it was throwing everything off.. then rebooted everything and had a look at the config menu on the printer. Changed the IP and gateway addresses to what was on a configuration printout from a previous working setup.
Seems to be ok now.
