Hello! Please, check if your Operating System is compatible with your camera, because if not you will have to update.
Start>right click Computer>Properties; you will see the first line "Windows Edition" under which you can see which is your Operating System and all the information about it.
The camera you have is compatible with Windows 7, but can also work with at least Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Windows Vista.
If your Operating System is older then the above, you will have to update: go to www.microsoft.com and click on downloads, choose your program (XP, Vista, et.), and in the first tab after loading the page you will see the latest update (for example: If XP, you will see download tab for Service Pack 3; if Vista, you will see download tab for Service Pack 2)
You can also update using Windows Update: Start>type Windows Update in the search box>Enter>Check for Updates. Install updates and restart your computer.
If you do not have the driver for installing your camera, please go to
and see video on how to install your camera. You can also download the driver, BUT make sure you choose the right one for your Operating System-compare drivers on the site and your System info (see step 1).
Hi there,
You can still download the drivers from the links below for your windows
For Windows 7
LifeCam 3.2 32-bit and 64-bit for Windows 7
For Windows XP (32-Bit)
LifeCam 3.2 32-bit for Windows XP SP2 or higher (excluding 64-bit)
For Windows XP (64-Bit)
LifeCam 2.04 for Windows XP 64-bit
Download the drivers, unplug the camera from the computer and run the setup Lifecam3.22.exe, Install the drivers and follow on-screen instruction, Within the setup it might will prompt you to plug in the camera, connect the camera and the drivers will be loaded automatically and you will need to restart your computer once,

The download for the Via Video II is located at the link below. Unfortunately it may not be compatible with Windows 7 as it has been discontinued and is no longer supported by Polycom.
I purchaased MS Lifecam from Walmart at a bargain price of $50.00 yesterday. I quickly installed the s/w on my windows 2003 XP under 5 mins. The camera worked for exactly 20 mins. I opted out from installing the Live Messanger ( don't need it). However the s/w crashed within 20 mins, complaining of a fatal error, which it could not Debug, but insisted on sending off the report to MS..which I declined. After trying to reload the s/w on the same computer for 3 more times, which involved remove and re-install..I finally gave up on the 2003 XP. I then tried to load the s/w on my windows 7 laptop..got the same error message. After messing with it for at least 5 hours, and ruining half my day, I returned the product back to walmart and got my money back. What a scam!! The MS Support site tells you to reinstall windows 7 and then try to reload the d- -n!! s/w again. What kind of Freaking solution is that??!! BTW I have plenty of space on laptop, 80 gigs..so space was not an issue.
