We got a gold gym 410 treadmill from a friend and now none of the lights work so you can't program or see anything. we tried to trouble shoot as the manual says but our parts picture doesn't look like...

see the diagram attached with the REED switch, clean it and tight very well the connector.
download the ins.manual from www.fitness.manualsonline.com and fix it. Replace the batteries by new ones, if the system has batteries and clean the contacts.5cb6d6d2-6c93-4b05-bf85-8cf125b361f3.gif

I have a gold gym trainer 410 treadmill that by a power out stop working I notice the motor card was burned out so I bought a used one in ebay but still wont turned on what could be wrong with it

you may have a faulty board.Does it have a light on it when you turn it on. If not it is faulty or the power lead is faulty or safety switch is faulty.
If all else fails call a tech to come out and look at it for you.

What do I need to consider before buying an elliptical trainer for our home gym?

There are quite a few factors that you need to take into consideration. These include, but are not limited to: budget, machine features and safety features. Aside from those three facets you may want to consider whether or not you are interested in extra features such as: a heart rate monitor, pre-set programming, iFit.com capabilities, etc.
