How do you put video from your camcorder to your computer?

With a Canon ZR70MC camcorder, you can record video onto miniDV tape, or onto the SDmemory card in Card Camera mode.

To access video on the miniDV tape, you will use the DV cable (IEEE 1394 aka FireWire). Connecting this cable to your windows computer will allow you to transfer high quality video using the software supplied on the digital video solutions disc, or just about any other windows video editing software.

To access videos stored on the SD memory card, remove the card and place it in a card reader connected to your computer, or attach a usb cord to the camera and the computer. Video stored on the memory card is limited to 10 second clips @ 320x240 resolution.

Hi ya guy's! i just bought the famous canon fs100 and i'm starting out with a 1 gb sd card, when i'm recording a message pops up saying "it may not be possible to record movies on this card" and...

Have you already formatted the card on the unit? Sometimes with a Canon recorder if the card is not formatted on the unit itself it will not work. Also try to check the resolution that you are recording at.

Formatting SD card

I had this problem too. Some SD cards won't properly format. My trick was I formatted the card in a different device first (canon Powershot A-630) then put the card in the R-09 and formatted it again. it took about 8 seconds for a 2 gig SD card to format.

Camera stops recording video

When recording movies in the SHQ image quality mode, I am restricted to 15 seconds of recording time per movie. Why?
In SHQ mode, the FE-230 records movies with VGA resolution (640 x 480 pixels) and a frame rate of 30 frames per second. Recording this much data, this quickly, requires a large amount of camera memory and a very quick write time.
Olympus’ Type M+ and Type H xD-Picture Card media are high-speed cards and are able to process this volume of information with no loss in quality. Other commercially available media, including Type M and Standard type xD-Picture Card media, are not able to do so. For this reason, this model limits movie recording in SHQ mode to 15 seconds when using media other than Type M+ or Type H cards. The 15-second restriction guarantees that the camera will be able to process the data properly and produce a smooth, error-free movie during playback.
Keep in mind that there is no restriction on movie recording length, other than the capacity of the storage media, when recording in the HQ (320 x 240 pixels) mode.

I'm not sure if you are recording in SHQ or not. Try switching to HQ (press menu, then select image quality). It solved the problem for me. Btw I got the solution of the Olympus FAQ page on their website.
