This is happening to mine aswell. i have had it for nearly 8 months it had a good period of no problems bout 6 months after puchasing. However just today it has been saying inactive sim and re-setting itself for the last 45minutes. i blamed it on a loose sim card holder but i tightened that and it is still not working. the only way to fix this is to complain like a ***** and get your money back.

I have a sony ericsson J10i2, I bought it off ebay, it's saying i have an inactive sim, and there's a handset next to the network bar with a red line through it. I have signal on my phone, but i can't make...

Hello and Welcome to FixYa!
Inactive SIM message may arise due to more than one issues. First things first check the hardware of your phone, to do this Put out the SIM card and check what happens. If it shows insert SIM card, its normal. If it shows the same inactive message then hardware malfunctioning.
Ok if the hardware is ok, then its simple. Inactive SIM means that your SIM card is not being able to register your Network carrier. The Phone with a red-line means SIM card registration failed. Although the signal radar works. This may be due to 2 issue; either there is a issue at the Service provider End, to check this call the service providers from other cell or land-line and check the status of your connection against this SIM Card No. If they say everything is ok. Then Its confirmed that your Phone is Network locked (Can only be used for one specific network) In this case coordinate with the seller.
I hope you will have a clearer picture now.

If you have any Confusion, questions or issues regarding your problem do tell me.

I turned my phone on after 1 years of it being lost. Now it says inactive usim i know the o2 signal isn't the best in my house but help

No, its not the signal problem. It is infact ur SIM problem. U will have to call back ur network provider to resolve this. an inactive sim is always as good as dead sim. Ur SIM automatically gets inactive by ur network provider if not used (switched off mode) more then six months.

Hope this helps.
thanks

Sim card wont register

You SIM card is inactive. You have to make at least 1 paid call every 6 months otherwise your sim is deactivated. If it's new sim has to be activated.

My SGH-T629 came from the U.S. how can i make it capitable with the sim card in the phillipines

A. Turn on phone with full battery and non-T-Mobile SIM in place.
Allow phone to completely boot up to Wrong SIM screen. B. Enter from Wrong SIM Screen *#7465625# to confirm lock status C. Scroll through Interrogate Screen 1. Network lock - Active (this is the one you'll be deactivating)
2. Subset lock - inactive
3. SP lock - inactive
4. CP lock - inactive
5. SIM Card lock - inactive
6. Activa lock - inactive
7. Auto network lock - inactive
8. Auto subset lock - inactive
9. Auto SP lock - inactive
10. Auto CP lock - inactive
11. Auto SIM Card lock - inactive
12. Phone lock - inactive D. Push "C" button under navigation button to clear Interrogate screen back to Wrong SIM
screen E. From the Wrong SIM screen enter the following: *7465625*638*00000000*00000000# Those are two series of eight zeros. The phone will not show the zeros but will show dashes in their place. Phone may make a small tone and at the bottom of the screen it will read "Network Personalized" or perhaps "Network Already Personalized" F. Now input the following from whatever screen shows up: #7465625*638*00000000# (again this is a series of eight zeros) Phone may make small tone and will read "Network Lock Deactivated" G. Turn off phone
H. Re-start the handset and allow it to reboot.
J. Enter from Standby Screen *#7465625# to confirm lock removal status K. Scroll through Interrogate Screen 1. Network lock - inactive (note that this lock is now inactive)
2. Subset lock - inactive
3. SP lock - inactive
4. CP lock - inactive
5. SIM Card lock - inactive
6. Activa lock - inactive
7. Auto network lock - inactive
8. Auto subset lock - inactive
9. Auto SP lock - inactive
10. Auto CP lock - inactive
11. Auto SIM Card lock - inactive
12. Phone lock - inactive
That's it. Your phone is ready to accept SIM cards from just about any GSM mobile telephone service provider in the world. If you received a "wrong password" message you will need to insert a working SIM and reset the password to the default 8 zeroes "00000000". After that you may try this process again and it should work.

From orange to O2

you could try this

By doing the reset (1st temp) you will lose all your
data ie contacts, messages, photos, videos etc etc so
back them up on your pc first.
Take out your sim card and follow the instructions below :
1st temp. put this number in the keypad
*2767*3855# let it reboot(restart)
now its ready for permanent.
Put in a sim card of a network that the phone won't
except and follow the instructions below.
( If you can't type anything with a locked sim
card inserted just take it out and do the next
step without a sim card in the phone)
Don't worry if your screen shows - - - - - - - when typing
it is supposed to do this.
Permanent.
ENTER :
*7465625*638*00000000*0000000
0#
NEXT ENTER
#7465625*638*00000000#
AND THEN *#7465625# to check the locks....all locks are
inactive...these are all the locks...
network lock - inactive
subset lock - inactive
sp lock - inactive
cp lock - inactive
sim lock - inactive
activa lock - inactive
phone lock - inactive
auto network - inactive
auto subset lock - inactive
auto sp lock - inactive
auto cp lock - inactive
auto sim lock - inactive
Enjoy !
This procedure does not change your imei number at all
