While operating at a normal setting (set on low midway) the water accumulates in the basin which holds and supports the entire unit. (It is the base of the unit which is not intended to hold water) After a few hours of running I notice it is full of water. On some occasions during the night it overflows completely and starts getting the floor and carpet wet. Many times I encounter the piece inside the base floating in the water. There are no apparent leaks anywhere in the unit. I think its the water boiling over the edge accumulating over time. But it just started doing this recently. I've ran it on the highest settings for days on end and never had this problem. Now I can't use it for more than 6-7 hours before having to empty the basin.
SOURCE: Humidifier does not reset
According to Holmes, one of the causes of the Reset light staying on is scale buildup on the heating element.
Remove Scale: Allow to cool before maintenance.
1. Repeat steps 1-5 in the Daily Maintenance section.
2. Clean the base by partially filling the base with one
8-oz cup of undiluted white vinegar. Let solution stand
20 minutes, cleaning all interior surfaces with a soft
brush. Dampen a cloth with undiluted white vinegar
and wipe out entire base to remove scale.
3. Rinse with clean warm water to remove scale and the
white vinegar solution before beginning to disinfect
the tank.
4. Wipe the heating element clean with a soft cloth after
it has had chance to cool.
If the scale has really built up it might take longer than 20 mins for the vinegar to get rid of it and you might need to refresh with new vinegar.

Good Luck.
SOURCE: Left Tank won't empty
Eureka! Solved my "left bottle not emptying" problem. The problem was not with the bottle but that the top of unit which houses the on/off switch was not seated properly. It takes only a very slight difference in water level for the float to activate the switch, therefore if the top is raised even 1/4" the unit will shut off before the water level is low enough to allow the left bottle to drain.
SOURCE: Humidifier won't turn on with furnace fan set to Auto.
There is a devise called a current sensing relay (a little black box that hangs on a blower motor wire that senses current from that wire) If you have such a devise it should hang from the white (common) wire. Loop the wire through twice.
SOURCE: LEAKS
Try to just fill the tank with water and set it upright on a table. If it leaks, the tank is cracked and needs to be replaced. Order one at kaz.com (search using model#). I have had this tank leak if the special cap is not sitting properly on the base. Make sure that the steam tower is properly locked in place before you place the water tank in the reservoir. The cap on the tank has a spring release that has to be correctly lined up so it only releases water when the water level in the reservoir drops.
SOURCE: When furnace cycles on the humidifier overflow
If the water stops when the heater is not running then the humidifier is working fine. I know it seems like alot of water but that's how it's designed.
