SOURCE: 2 new bulbs, still dim picture

It could be a dirty projection lense or the light engine is malfunctioning by a slipped lense in front of the color wheel or the light engine is dirty it self. They are not two hard to take out if the mounts have set marks on them then it is easy to put the engine the way it was.

Display is very dim

Backlight bulb is burnt out. The display, on its own, will not generate enough light to read so there is a backlight bulb that brightens the display. Need to disassemble and see what type bulb is in there. Radio Shack should have a replacement if you bring your old one it.

GOOD LUCK>

Why do my boat trailer lights seem dim? Do I need a stronger flasher?

Too many bulbs on a circuit (flashers) will cause the system to flash rapidly. Dim lights more likely are a bad ground circuit. Many trailers use the ball as the ground connection. It is a poor one at best. Make sure you have a ground from the tow vehicle to the trailer (usually the white wire) Clamp a jumper cable from a good clean frame component on the vehicle and connect the other end to the trailer. If the lights brighten, you may have to clean/replace the ground.

We have sound but no picture from our WD62530

you could have a ballast that has gone bad especiallyif it takes the bulb a long time to brighten up. look in the front of the set and see if the bulb indicator light tells to replace bulb or lamp. then you could try to reset the tv just in case this could unset an improper setting. the correct way to reset would be found in the user manual.

Hello. I have a Mitsubishi WD-65732. We are experiencing TV shutdowns about once every two weeks. Also, unless it it my imagination, the picture seems to dim/brighten depending upon other things on...

Hi,
I've suspect that your bulb has near to its end thats why you've encountered the subsequent shutdown and picture problem. This is the very common symptom of a faulty bulb. But since you've still watching your tv, this is not totally defective. I've advice you to look for a qualified technician to check the condition of the bulb before replacing with new one.
Hope it may help you.
Have a nice day.
Thanks for using Fixya.

Hello, I got this Model in 2006 and my picture has got dimmer and dimmer. Is their just one bulb that needs to be replaced, and is it the bulb? Thank You!

there is more than one bulb, you need to call samsung to find out just how many. the bulb can be the primary fault , however all plasma tv's will dim more and more over time. It has more to do with the plasma panel though. replacing the bulbs may brighten the picture some however if it were only the bulbs you would have no picture at all. my personal opinion in this case would be to not replace the bulbs, i doubt that will solve your problem even if it does brighten the picture some i doubt it will produce the solution you are seeking. plasma tv's are great but they do have drawbacks, like the bulbs needing to be replaced and the fact that the panels get burn in . the problem you have is more to do with burn in than it does the bulbs. even thought there is no static image in one place ( what people think burn in is only ) the entire panel has " burn in " slightly which dulls the screen. i suggest buying a new tv, lcd or lcd/led to avoid this in the future. you can try to use the same thing they do to fix actual burn in of a static image, that may brighten the screen a little, however in some instances that is the culprit. to truely explain all this it would take a very long time , look up burn in on the internet and read about all the causes and solutions, you will then understand in a rather short period of time.
