Got a dell Power Edge 2900. everything is working fine. Got a flashing amber light and red A light on the tape drive. Could someone assist me please?
An Amber blinking power button indicates a low voltage problem. This can be caused by a defective power supply or a defective motherboard. May also be a defective card inserted into your motherboard. Try isolating the problem by removing all components until you just have motherboard and power supply and see if it turns on.

Hi,
check if the drive is showing in the bios of the server,
shut down the server, take out the power cable, press and hold the power button so as to realease flea power, open the server, and reseat the data cable at both ends and if there is another power cable available in the server swap it with the existing cable plugged into the scsi drive.
and now try to start your server.

Yes. Here are some things that could be an issue:
a problem with power supplies, fans, system temperature, or SCSI hard drives.
Install the Dell Open Manager software to run diagnostic. It will tell you what needs to be fixed.
SOURCE: high pitched noise red light blinking
A high pitch noise comes normally from blown capacitors from the motherboard or the power supply. But mostly high pitch noise comes from power supplies.
You could have to open up the power supply to see them.
Verify if it is the case and replace the faulty part.
