My dvd 25 do not read file mp3...what type of cd or dvd may Y use??thanks and regards

Any format of disc the player accepts (according to the instruction manual - if you still have it), as well as those which your PC recognises. CD-R (as audio) will work, as will finalised DVD-R discs containing video.

CD-RW & CD-R discs - for mp3/jpeg files - use your PC and choose the appropriate burning software.

DVD-R discs - use either your PC and again choose the appropriate burning software, or a DVD recorder - you must finalise the discs in the recorder for compatible playback in players.

This may or may not help. If your PC is equipped with a CD/DVD drive, write the above-suggested discs in that.

Trying to copy some pics onto a cd to get some disc space but my drive wont recognise the cd rw

do you have a cd writer or rom drive is the first thing you have to check, if it's a writer then put the disc in first and it should give you an option to write files to cd accept then follow the the instruction to add your files, assuming your running windows. iif that does'nt work check to see if your discs are + or - it may be your wriiter will only accept one kind

Cd/dvd drive not recognizing discs

You will probably need the ide file. It sometimes gets corrupted. I used the Atapi ide file and it worked on a Toshiba drive. It can be found by doing a search and can be downloaded as a seperate file.

DVD drive wont accept new discs - seems to be blocked somehow, as if there is a disc in there, which there isn't

some dvd drives and cd drives go bad after a few years. sometimes the only thing you can do is replace the cd/dvd drive. I have to manage a 10 computer network and you will not believe the failure rate of computer hardware.

replace it with a new one.

Cd Drive in Mac iBook 4 is malfunctioning. Disc will not mount.

Shut the machine down. Find the original CD or a retail OS X installation DVD. Start the machine up and immediately hold down the option key. You will see a icon of your hard drive. Now insert the CD or DVD. If it immediately spits out, your optical drive needs replacement. If it does not, click on the U-shaped arrow button to rescan the drives. If the CD/DVD does not show up, your optical drive needs replacement. If it does, choose it and boot from it. If this actually works, you may have a software problem -- this is low probability, but possible.
Keep in mind that the CD and DVD read heads are separate. If one of those is malfunctioning, your drive will accept CDs but not DVDs, or vice versa. If you see this behavior, your optical drive needs replacement.

Playing PS2 on apple iMac

if the iMac is one of the computers with the slot-load drive (you don't load the disc into a tray before it goes into the computer), then placing a disc smaller than a regular CD/DVD will damage the CD drive and will be very hard to remove.

you could buy an external CD/DVD drive and then use smaller discs with the iMac.

Dvd writer wont accept dvd-r

If you have posted the correct model of writer, then it only supports the writing of DVD+R and DVD+RW discs, but CD-R and CD-RW disc writing are supported, and it should play all forms of DVD, so it won't burn DVD-R and RW discs, but if it wont play all types then try a cd/dvd cleaner, but to be honest when writers start playing up the lens is normally faulting and a replacement drive will be required.
