The tines are not moving forward on my Rotavator. The engine is Tecumsah Vantage 50. The tines move backwards and the engine seems fine. The rotavator will not move forward

I have seen a number of domestic rotavators but haven't yet seen one with a reverse gear. You didn't make it clear in your description whether yours has a reverse gear and that is all that is working or whether it usually only moves forward but is moving backwards?

While it is theoretically possible for a 2-stroke engine to run backwards, your engine is a 4-stroke that is incapable of running backwards and so it would seem the gear selector is stuck if it has one or someone has carried out repair work and made a mistake or something else is broken.

The only thing that comes to mind is some of the older designs used an over-long drive belt that crossed in the middle like a figure eight in order to reverse the driven pulley and replaced the belt with one that seemed the right size would cause the machine to run backwards.

More information needed, perhaps...

Why wont my Flymo qs 46sd rev ?

does it have a throttle cable fitted?? you really dont need an idle as as soon as you release the opc or dead mans handle it will cut out anyway. engine should be reving at 3000-3100 rpm. if this mower has a briggs and stratton engine fitted, remove the air filter and check the spring and linkege is still attached to the air vane govenor

When my flymo lite 250 engine is running the end does not turn to cut the grass

Could be anything from a stripped drive shaft to a loose or stripped trimmer head. You'll probably need to take it to a repair shop to have them diagnose the problem and locate the replacement parts if it's anything other than a stripped trimmer head bolt.

Hi I have a easyspin wizard rotavator model no ac3502 it has a briggs and stratton 3hp engine mounted on it there is no spark i have removed the flywheel to expose the points and there is a wire broken of...

Call your local repair shop and they will give you numbers and even a new part its always better to replace broken parts than try to repair. start fresh you will have less problems in the future. good Luck....
