2010 singer touchmatic the bobbin won't wind up thread on it=starts then catchs and tread just balls up
SOURCE: I cannot get the needle to catch the bobbin thread
sounds like your keeping the upper thread too tight when you drop your needle down to catch the bobbin or the bobbin thread that you left hang out is too short, let me know if it works amy

Pull the slide plate open and watch the hook (the rotating part under the bobbin case). It should move around with no hitch.
If it does not turn, it has a broken gear. The model 457 has a vertical shaft gear that breaks and it's easy to replace.

the thread will not catch the bobbin and the feeder will not turn

To wind a bobbin put the cotton reel on the top pin, take the thread to the left and round the little wheel and back to the bobbin that should be on the winder, wind the thread round a few times to take a grip, release the stop motion in the balance wheel, turn the winder button so the winder moves to the balance wheel and press on the foot control slowly.
When you put the bobbin in the bobbin case make sure it turns anti clockwise.
machine needs to be timed,,usually a 30-50 repair, could try dropping a needle just a tad bit to see if it catches
