when pairing the bluetooth with other device enter the passcode of your wish & let the other enter the same passcode it will connect....the passcode is for prevention of pairing against your wish
The only advice to really give is that he probably didnt change the passcode...so it should be the same four digits as the last four digits of his cell phone number.
If you can get the number, you should be able to use the last four digits as the passcode. Thats the "default". Otherwise you can probably take the phone into a verizon store to get it reset, they can do the reset without the passcode, I believe. Hope that helps!
