LG Plasma picture probles

I received this tv from my mother in law, who in turn inherited it from her brother who passed away. We are not sure if this worked prior to us getting it, or if we messed something up during transport. We have none of the cords, so i found a computer AC adapter, and plugged in that, and the cable. When I turned on the tv, the whole left side of the screen is rainbow vertical lines. The right side is fine, with picture and sound. However, when i do the menu, or anything, it's behind the vertical lines, so i can't see that either.
Is it fixable? Worth it? It's a 2005. Model number DU-42PX12X
Thank You

Sounds like dry or broken solder somewhere or maybe a poor connection..could be a very cheap fox if you have the time to investigate!

Hi there. I have this same TV, and the exact same problem. Last night, i was playing around with it, took off the entire back of it to see if I could fix it. After a few minutes of tinkering, I found that if I apply pressure to the TV in a specific way, the left side of the picture comes back. Here's what I did: standing in front of the TV, I hold the top of it, in the middle with my right hand, and the upper left corner with my left hand. Then, I gently apply pressure, forward (away from me) with my right hand, and backwards (toward me) with my left hand. Sort of like trying to "bend" the screen. At some point, the picture comes back .. . the problem is, if I let go, then the colored lines come back . . . maybe one can mount it on a wall in such a way that the pressure is still there . .. i haven't tried. That's all I got.

I was given this machine when my mother in law passed away. There is not a booklet with it to explain how to work it. Is there a way I can get this booklet? Thank you for any response you may be able to...

Hi. Brother is very good at providing replacement manuals. Go to http://www.brother-usa.com/manuals/, choose sewing machines, then look for your model.

Good luck and happy sewing!

Need owners manuel

Try this link to zenith it should take you directly to the Product support page. Click on Product Support in the menu bar then click on the owner's manuals link on the left side of the page. You'll want to select TV as the product group, then PDP TV as the product, ENGLISH for the language, and finally type in the model number.

Good Day;

Look in owners manual pages 28-35, pay special attention to page 31 and make sure the antenna is connected to ANT-DTV input. Good Luck, big IRISH.

Television lines

This sounds like a bad cap in the power supply. The component is only starting to fail under load and heat. I'll look up your specific model and see if there have been any reports of this type of problem.

42 inch LG Plasma TV - Lost picture

Our LG 50" plasma tv screen went black after a popping noise but still had sound, after great diliberations decided to take the back off and have a peek!
We unplugged the tv and tested the fuses (there were three we could see) one had blown, the one on the left as you look at the back of the tv it also has one above it. We wrote the code/seriel number down and took the fuse to the electrical wholesalers Maplin and bought a pack of 10 fuses for £1.29 replaced the fuse in the tv and everything now fine!!!!!!
Hope this might be of use to anyone whose lost the picture after a loud popping/snacking noise but still has sound.
