Look under the faceplate. On the left side should be a reset button. Try resetting your unit & see if it helps.

Just follow the Aftermarket Wiring Diagram and you will be fine

try detaching the "face" and there should be a little button that you can only push in with some kid of really thin stick,maybe a pin that will reset the cd player and hopefully work

hi there it souds like the units thermal cut out is faulty it cold also be a lack of power a capacitor wuoldnt make a difference try taking a live direct from the battery this eliminates the lack of power sinario hope this helps ben

Try resetting it. Also if it won't reset using the reset button found behind the faceplate. Take off the negative battery cable under the hood this should reset everthing. Then replace it. If it is old and the motor is having trouble kicking the cd out then stick a used no good cd in on top of the other cd and use it to apply pressure to the cd in the player then pull it out after pressing eject

Check your ipod to see if it is shuffle mode. Alpine doesn't document this but they have a bug that causes the problem that you describe. If the ipod is in shuffle mode the Alpine gets confused.
