It seems to start out okay, but then a dialogue box comes up saying it can't connect to the internet. The internet seems to be okay as Pandora runs fairly consistently. The dialogue box has an "okay" button. You push that and goes back to the app and it turns out that the pause was initiated. You push play and it plays a while then freezes up again. I have tried uninstall and then reinstall. Didn't seem to help.

From research, it seems that the iLive company is to blame as they did not update the firmware to work correctly with iOS 4, so it is their problem and not the iPhone.

SOURCE: Ive got the same problem.
The big reason is data corruption. You don't have backup power to properly shutdown the system and the hardware that suffer first is the hard drive and most especially your data to run your system.
That is the reasons UPS is being use to protect data corruption on desktop. Sometimes reformatting the hard drive is not enough. Bad sector is also the reasons. Zero fill may be needed before reformatting, before installing your operating system once again in its driver.
Hope I give you some ideas.

I have this exact same problem... audio I loaded on through itunes play perfectly... songs, audiobooks, podcasts, etc, as well as input from my TV and the build in FM radio, but anytime you try to use any 3rd party radio app on the iphone, you get like 2 seconds of audio and then nothing, and the app usually has some text that says, "No Volume Available".
From research, it seems that the iLive company is to blame as they did not update the firmware to work correctly with iOS 4, so it is their problem and not the iPhone. I am returning my device and getting another brand that supports iOS 4
