Water keeps filling up the drum and inlet light flashes

Hi My Miele w460 starts normally, fills with water and then the check inlet light flashes, three dashes appear in the timer display and the machine stops. At this point the machine is full of water - too much really. It appears to fill correctly and then is not able to tell itself to stop. I have checked the incoming hoses / cleaned the inlet valve / checked the water pressure / the machine fills with water at the normal rate / the machine drains at the normal rate / I have cleaned the front drain / I have tipped the machine forward to empty all the water out / I have checked the water is spraying into the detergent drawer and it is OK too. To get rid of the full drum of water I put it on spin and drain but as there is a lot of water it seeps out of the detergent drawer. Does anyone have any ideas please ? Many thanks !

Either the inlet water valve is bad and needs to be replaced or the controller for it is not cutting off the electricty to it, If you are going to replace something, replace the water inlet solenoid valve.

SOURCE: Will not drain or spin

Unless you jarred the machine it's the timer. You can check this by bypassing the lid switch and seeing if it will cycle.

We had the same problem on a Premier 500 and solved it by tilting the machine forward. Some more water ran out and the lights went off.

SOURCE: Bosch classixx 1000 washing machine - stops on spin

Washing machine stops at the spin cycle - light flashes. Have to drain water out manually. Happened last week and was then able to run an empty rinse cycle. Machine worked normally for another week. Same problem today but have had to drain water manually from the drum after trying an empty 90 wash and rinse cycle (both stopped on the Spin and flashed). Any ideas? Thanks. x

Most likely to be the brushes in the motor that need to be replaced, check them for wear, and if less than 4 or 5 mm long, replace them.

Miele W460 Inlet light flashing as water wont stop filling machine

Washer fills with water and overflows:

The water pressure level switch is a pressure activated switch that is used to determine the correct water level in the tub. This part is normally located behind the control panel and will have a hose or air dome tube that connects it to the tub. On washers that use an electronic control, this switch may be located at the sump area below the tub. As the water fills in the tub it will compress the air in the tube and push against a diaphragm inside the switch. The switch will control the water inlet valve and turn the valve off at the correct water level. If the tube has a leak, not enough pressure may be created to activate the switch and the washer may overfill. If the switch is defective it may also cause the machine to overfill. To determine if the switch is bad, you should first eliminate the air dome hose as a problem. Look for signs of cracks or worn areas on the hose. Remove the hose and submerge in water. Seal one end and blow air into the other end and look for bubbles. Check for an obstruction in the hose as well. If the air dome hose appears to be ok, then the water level switch may be defective.

You can test it with a meter and with a manual test? ( first locate it in the panel, it has a plastic clear tube hose going into it, remove that tube from its connection, now put another small tube or hose into the slot where it was and have the machine set to wash cycle with water in it. Blow into the other end of the tube.
If the machine starts to wash. the pressure switch is more than likely good
( No wash- then THE DIAPHRAGM IS BAD AND SWITCH HAS TO BE REPLACED).
Another test u can make with a multi meter is by testing the prongs individually.
# 15,16,17 (don't worry to much bout the numbers IF U GET THEM WRONG) place ur meter prongs on both out side prongs or connectors of the switch.
(where the wire plugs into) take note of wether it shows OHMS or infinity ( open or close circuit) ? Now place the meter on the left outside and the middle prong, take note agin what it shows. Now place meter prong on the right outside and the middle prong. Agin take note what reading u get. ( you should actually get a reading of infinity in 1 and a reading of continuity or ohms in the other 2? Now the tricky part. Agin place a small tube or hose into the switch and blow into it, using the meter do the same test agin on all prongs. But now keep the pressure on the switch when u blow into it, in other words use ur tongue on one end of tube to not allow air to escape. When u test it agin now one of the prongs that once read infinity should now show continuity or ohms, and 1 of the other prongs that read ohms should now read infinity or open.

The other item to check would be your water inlet valve. Check it for continuity with a multi meter it should show Ohms or a closed circuit. To test it when water is overflowing unplug the unit and see if it still overflows or continues to fill. If it stops when unplugged. Then it is not a water inlet problem but an electrical signal problem going to ur water inlet valve. Possibly from the panel or board. You can also do a live volt test to see if it is getting the full 120 current, but be sure to unplug unit before testing as this is a live test.
Also another trick to check the water valve, is to first cut the water off and remove the hoses off the back of the washer. Then one at a time point the hoses inside the washer tub and turn the water back on. If you don't have good water pressure, turn the water back off and remove the strainer that should be in one end of the hose. Inspect the strainer to see if it is stopped up, clean it and reinstall it. Now repeat this test. If you have good water pressure now, reinstall hose and your problem is fixed

By the way my advice is free cuz God is good!

Miele W1926 check inlet light flashes at he end of rinse fill

Hi Yugin. That indicates your machines water inlet valve is faulty.(Means it's taking less water then normal)Please check this steps & do it fast before water inlet is finishes:1-Turn your machine on & run empty with pre-wash cycle first.2-Please ajar the detergent drawer & check runing water on compartment one 3-Please press pre-wash button & compare the running water volume on compartment two.If the running water volume 1 is less then 2 or vs.water valve needs to be replace. That's causing problem.I hope that helps.Thanks.

Miele W1926 check inlet light flashes at the end of rinse fill. When the fill ends, the light goes off. I cleaned all 4 filters at the intake hoses. The problem still exists. What does it mean?

Hi dear.It sounds like you'll need to change water inlet valve very soon.Because, machine waiting water level to be reach,in specific time frame in chosen program parameters to be get completed. If that does not happen, then it starts giving fault indication.Indication stops after fill, because task been competed & computer disregards the fault. If that won't happen then machine going to get stop completely & indication will carry on.Chage the water inlet valve if you can.I hope that helps. Thanks.

Hi dear.According to what you're saying,It has faulty water inlet valve.Machine unable to get enough water to do it's cycle in given parameters in time period & starts giving error but before the cycle complates, however it takes enough water, that's why error lights goes off.If you can,you need to change the valve or call service department.I hope that helps.Thanks.

I have exactly the same problem. I am currently getting around the issue by letting the machine do the washing then at the end of that cycle do a manual rinse cycle.

Optima G2430 Miele dishwasher with intake/drain flashing light

Hi,
F13 is an inlet fault.
First the unit drains and then fills with water. When the unit has intially drained open the door and manually fill the unit with water, about 5lts. This will then allow the dishwasher to go to the next step which is to circulate the water. If this works ok then the water tap is defective, water inlet valve is defective or the electronic unit is not sending the signal to activate the valve. The water inlet valve is the white square box attached to the tap. Remove this and check the filter and make sure water comes out of the tap.If ok then remove the bottom panel of the unit under the door. On the right hand side there is a 2 core cable with a male and female connector. Unplug this and check for voltage from the electronic when the unit goes to fill with water. If there is 240v then the electronic is ok. You will then need a new waterproof system from Miele.
