Sony power amplifier stk 4142 using c1237ha protection ic my problum is relay not workig

Its stk ic problem. Change stk ic. Purchase from online china website and change stk ic no 412750

IC501 it's a Power Output IC Part Number STK-412-150.

check for open resistor around the ic amplifier the big black one STK a value of one ohms acting as fusible resistor

Fan is broken so overheats. Same is happening with mine just need to fix fan I believe. I used it with a a office fan on top and it worked a lot longer.

That is the common symptom of the defected STK-IC in power amp.section that busted already or just a loose connection.First try to resolder the pins of STK-IC and also all component parts joint in power amplifier section if its works! if not that is the time you replace it, so it works normal again.

Maybe the audio amplifier IC damaged and need to be replaced good luck

Your audio output transistors are shorted and your unit is staying in "protect " mode to protect your speakers from 40 to 60 volts that is being sent at them from the shorted outputs. If you can use a meter you won't need the schematic MOST likely because the outputs are USUALLY the only parts that short out. The output transistors( or chip ) are mounted to the large, finned heatsink. The #'s on the transistors start with "2SA-" and "2SC-" followed by numbers. There are two output transistors per channel. If your unit uses an IC for audio output then the # on the IC will be "STK-" followed by numbers. These parts are available from tritronicsinc.com. Good Luck!
